It's a nice cabinet - and the price is better than some others around for this item - now as to the damages, whose fault is it? Is it Amazon? Is it the company who originally packaged it? Is it the shipper? Or is it a combination of the above? The cabinet came with huge dents along the bottom in the back. The "foam" that was underneath it for protection was 2 strips a couple of inches wide on the outside edges - not the entire bottom, and it had shifted around to cover next to nothing. So dents. It came with a big dent in the front on the bottom edge. It has a series of large dents in the back at the top. And the material is substantial enough that we could not pound out the dents with a hammer. None of these impair its use = which is the only reason we kept it.It came by professional trucking co. They seemed to do fine in handling it while we watched anyway. They called to schedule a time, they were on time or even a little early; they took it to the room we wanted. They did not remove the wrappings, so the condition was a surprise we got after they left.But what happens when you find damage and they are still there? Do you hassle the guys who brought it - try to send it back. Wait and contact Amazon? Call Sandusky? Have to take it somewhere to return? So, we kept it. The dents are visible as it sets there, but we were not willing to go through the difficulties of trying for a replacement. We need the cabinet. So if you get one in good condition - it seems pretty good. Otherwise, it's hard to give a glowing report when you get less than perfection.

We purchased this Sandusky Lee cabinet for use as a tool cabinet in our garage work room. It isn't as heavy-duty as the description indicates as its 24-gauge steel body may show dings and dents from transit and ordinary use. (It compares with some of the less expensive filing cabinets you might find at a big box office supply store.) The overall construction is high quality and would be improved with thicker body panels.The included shelves are well made, and seat inside the cabinet on small steel clips, easily supporting 120+ pounds per shelf in our application. If you intend on moving lots of tools in and out, be prepared for dings and scratches. But in terms of value for money, this can't be beat.Important to note: this cabinet sits directly on the floor, with no feet or legs, allowing for heavy items to be placed directly on the loot of the shelf. If moisture is a concern, you may want to consider installing a thin sheet of ply or other material between the shelf and the floor, which will also protect your floor.The cabinet also has a two pin locking system which secures the right side door: when opened, the left door does not stay shut. This is easily addressed with a small utility magnet to the upper corner of the door, similar to how you might use a magnet to hold closed a kitchen cabinet. The keyed lock is inexpensive and could be easily defeated but is suitable for our use in keeping small children out of our tools and work items. All in all, I would buy this unit again without hesitation for our use.

This state of Tenn. company (Sandusky) makes me proud to be an American. It's a very well made welded metal cabinet. It's plenty sturdy and yet not too heavy. The appearance is very good and certainly something you will not mind having in your home or anywhere else you need one. The painted finish is very good and looks professionally done. They come with a sufficient amount of shelves giving you the option of putting them where ever you want for different heights. Plus they come with a key locking handle for securing the contents and pulling open the doors. Which I was not aware of when I ordered the first ones but it made the purchase that much better. They are a bulky shipment so they take longer to get which I personally didn't mind. The companies packaging is very good and they shouldn't be damaged when you get them. My packaging was in very good condition on the outside. The first time I ordered three and all three were in excellent condition as was the last one I got. The shipping employees (two) who delivered the cabinets were polite and professional. Don't hesitate to order from this company if this is what your looking for. Just be patient for it's arrival.

About shipping: Received text that I would be receiving shipment a almost 3 weeks from time of order. Which was fine in no rush. However less than I week after I ordered there I pulled up to my house and a truck was just about to leave. My cabinets were there. They should use better communication. If The truck left I have no idea when I would have received them. They did not have my phone number. Packaging was great however one was pretty beat up. Dented in several places. Going in my garage so a complaint was not worth the effort. They are great cabinets though!

Cabinet is appears to be pretty well made and sturdy enough for our purpose, to store seldom used kitchen items in the garage. It arrived damaged. One corner of the top panel had a dent of about half a square foot, about a quarter inch deep. I attempted to contact Amazon about the damage, but after talking to the stone wall that is their customer service, I decided it would less painful to simply take a piece of 2x4 and a small sledge hammer and flatten the dent. Worked fine. The cabinet was missing one of the plastic guides for the door lock rod. Sandusky customer service is actually customer service, no problems getting them to send the part.
