Dead on arrival Amazon website says I can't return
I finally got around to installing the new phone system. I purchased it more than 30 days ago but didn't have everything else in place to actually use it. I finally got everything in place and functioning properly and then unboxed the phone and hooked it up it didn't work. No display no nothing did not function at all. But because I purchase it more than 30 days ago I cannot return it even though I've only had it out of the package for one day. I purchased the 3-year canopy protection to go with it and apparently it is not covered even though I purchased the canopy protection specifically for this item.

Good bang for the buck on refurbs...
Set up our PBX system with Refurbished 4610 phones. They work as they should, though they are not cutting edge technology.

Some improvements, but overall a sturdy phone.
One of my favorite IP phones, both to use at work and in my home. It has compatible SIP firmware for Asterisk/FreePBX support and is relatively easy to program ad setup.Unfortunately like any Avaya phone it has a small "lisp" when dialing SIP extensions, so without call center you can't use Star or Pound. There's also a persistent problem where an Asterisk Configuration update forces you to restart the phone or not be able to dial/receive calls. My only legitimate hardware complaint is that it only takes PoE, and has no external power adaptor otherwise.Overall a very good beginner phone for SIP or VoIP hobbiests and as a call center worker, but a Cisco phone would be better for hobbiests.

Doesn't Work With Headset
This phone has lots of problems with it. If you spend a lot of time on the phone, you can forget about getting a headset. They don't work with this phone. I have tried multiple headsets: you can hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear you. Called tech support. Tried every setting...nothing worked. Since this is a work based phone, without headset support, it is pretty much an expensive paper weight.
