Narada Presents: The Best of Celtic Christmas

A disappointment. I was expecting more the ambience of Narada's "Celtic Spirit", or even something more like the Celtic Christmas Sojourn albums, but this is a ragtag collection of songs that don't seem to belong on the same album with each other. There's something for everyone, perhaps, but do not expect to sustain a mood. Nor are all the songs all that great when considered individually, despite a few winners. These comments focus on the first disk. The second disc is Dordan's "The Night Before..." Some nice instrumentals with a couple haunting vocals and the very lively vocal "Polly in the Holly", which was in itself almost worth getting the disk for. But if you want the Dordan album (4 stars), better buy it by itself.

This CD is part of our family Christmas now! I discovered it while downloading songs about 10 years ago. I loved these tunes, so I eventually felt guilty about the free download and bought this album. We LOVE it. We love the contemporary tunes, as well as the traditional Celtic tunes. It's now one of those special recordings that helps bring in the Christmas spirit in our home. Highly recommended!

I love Christmas music-- good Christmas music-- and this is one of my all time favorite Christmas albums. Some Celtic music is sappy, hokey, or too slow. Not this one.

My son has enjoyed Celtic music (almost Celtic anything) from the time he was 9 years old. Not sure exactly why but he has. Now his preferences have toned down a bit except for the music area, Celtic is still one of his favorite types of music.

Wonderful! This is truly a "best" collection, nicely blending instrumentals and vocals. I continued listening after the Christmas season as it is such beautiful music. When an Irish/Scottish friend heard it, she also loved it, so I purchased another as a gift to her.

This is a beautiful CD and a welcome change from the traditional Christmas music we hear year after year. Anything NARADA will be enjoyable forever.
