Really good map but...
Never used it in Venice. Much better to use a satnav app (Android 'Navigator' is brilliant - and free) and a compass app. I found GPS in Venice quite reliable, not perfect, despite reading very negative comments about it.

Excellent, clear mapping on waterproof paper
Bought to replace an identical Marco Polo map lost somewhere in Venice. The map is clear and easily read, and seems an ideal scale for use when exploring the city. It has the huge benefit of being printed on tough, water resistant material, which feels a bit like plastic, but may be a coated paper. Either way, it seems the perfect material for a tourist map. Why aren't all maps like this.

Great map and used every day
Just back from a three day trip to Venice and this map was very useful.Prior to going I marked in felt tip all the places I wanted to go. I did try to use Google maps but reception was not great so I used the map more and though the scale isn't great it did allow me to go where I needed and I managed to see some great sights on route.

Not waterproof?
I don't think this is the map to walk around with but for putting on the wall. Good detail and will be useful to study in advance of visiting Venice. However I was disappointed that it does not feel like it would be waterproof. Not sure whether to put that to the test. Irrelevant I suppose as it is going on the wall! I would not have chosen it except it is inexpensive.

Good map, good purchase
Good map, know people they've been to Venice and bought cheap maps that aren't legible like this one and that it's waterproof makes it even more of a confident purchase.

Too Big
The quality was good, i just found it too big to be opening and walking around with.Stick to the one sold by the tourist board and water stop ticket office, has the same information and easier to walk around with. Three Euros. Oh and you will need Google maps anyway.
