Mylec Pro Goalie Mask

So i like the mask because it fulfilled it's purpose well. the padding will not protect you from a hockey puck. it will not stop your nose from getting broken if you get hit in the face with anything harder than a fist. breathing is fine while wearing the mask. you shouldn't wear it if you have long hair. if you have facial hair wearing the mask can get pretty itchy. visibility is fine if you are used to wearing a mask however your vision is cut about in half if not more. it isn't good for child size heads. you want it very snug when you're wearing it. if you mess with the top strap at the center of the mask it is difficult for it to be reattached so just leave it alone. the mask itself is durable and rigid but not so rigid as to make it shatter. the padding is thin foam almost like a craft foam. the buckles are plastic so be aware, it's not a bad thing it's just not impervious to damage. while wearing the mask your head will get very hot very fast. it is exactly what i expected for this item.

It looks awesome, and performs as you might expect. I used the mask for ball hockey and it worked great! I got hit in the mask a couple times with the ball. You definitely know you got hit, but it does not hurt at all. It is surprisingly comfortable, and gives you great visibility compared to bird cage masks, and great mobility.I would not recommend this mask for ice or even roller hockey that uses a plastic puck. The foam on the inside of my mask started falling off after 4 weeks of use, but a little super glue did the trick. User beware, the mask offers little protection to the neck area. I got hit in the neck where my normal goalie helmet would have covered.Overall, the coolness factor makes up for any of the downfalls this mask may have! I haven't gone one game without someone commenting on it.

Well I was a little hopeful that this would work for roller hockey with a puck if I used a neck guard with it but after getting it, no luck. A shot to the face would hurt a lot, the foam doesn't hug your face like a real goalies helmet does and its really thin foam. Any shot on the lower half sends all the force directly to the front and center of your chin pushing it back instead of evenly on the head/face. I feel like a street hockey puck could break the plastic with a hard enough slap shot. For costing so little I can't be upset, just a little dream to have that style helmet in hockey. The protection in the back isn't complete either.Sidenote, it doesn't look quite as cool in real life as the picture. The forehead seems a little bigger on it.Conclusion, probably fine for ball hockey, can't use it with pucks. (I'd avoid any no bounce balls with water in them because of the added weight)If you open your mouth your lower chin will be exposed. Again for a ball whatever but puck, no way in hell. I guess I have to be Jason next year for Halloween.

for the most part, you ever notice they just keep making things cheaper and cheaper. I had this mask years ago and I am happy to say it's still as sturdy and well built as before. granted its not a professional NHL hockey mask like the name says, but it's not inteaded for that... it makes for a great Halloween mask or for roller hockey possibly.. whatever your fancy just know its well built not those cheap 15$ Jason masks...

Teenage boy successfully scared his little sister at Halloween, so there's that? Except he didn't think about wearing it without his glasses😂. Now it just hangs on his wall and continues to fulfill his original purpose of keeping his younger siblings out. Which I suppose was his goal.

I've had this in my "Save for later" list for a year or two and then all of the sudden it went on sale so I went for it. Good quality, nice and big too.

I bought this as a prop (for a book cover photo  Musashi's Dokkodo (The Way of Walking Alone): Half Crazy, Half Genius - Finding Modern Meaning in the Sword Saint's Last Words ). As such, I was more concerned about the style than the quality but was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the mail. It's a very sturdy, nicely designed mask, truly an amazing value for what I paid.

Nice mask gives safety protection an covers well but straps aren't very sturdy 1 snapped as I was adjusting size

Great mask...This mask is perfect because it gives you full coverage and I have a large head and it still covers my entire face and ears...I use this for costume not hockey but it would work just fine for street hockey I had one like it as a kid and it is well made and good for hockey or Halloween and its made in the u.s.a. which is unusual these days.... I like it so much I have ordered one in black as well and its paintable so I might do some paint work on the black one to give it a even more sinister and intimidating look...Jason vorhees has nothing on this mask and unlike Jason masks this one fits like a real hockey mask should and has proper 5 point strapping and a backplate for a snug fit and a good look.

Product is a throwback to an era when these masks were the norm. This goalie mask will fit a large adult head , has a backpad for the back of your head and straps make it adjustable.Mask has more padding inside then the masks back in the day had. This will come in handy for some pond hockey action next winter !Very satisfied ~

Kids love it because they feel scary for some reason, even though none of them have seen any Friday the 13th movies. They just know.Also, street hockey balls bounce off harmlessly, which is also the whole point.Cool.

Why haven't they made a Friday the thirteenth film with this mask?? If I ever turn into a homicidal maniac, this will be my mask.
