It broke, ordered another!
Update: I have been contacted by product support after they seen this review. They immediately shipped me a new pole! Thank you!Absolutely love this pole! It broke on me super fast though (less than a month). So I immediately ordered another one! However... I emailed the company for a replacement. I have yet to hear from them... I'll add to this review later.Compact, It doesn't feel cheap. It's robust.Only negative I have is once you expand it, you have to line up the eyelets. That's fine though. Buy it and have fun!

Meh*
If your intent is to have a fishing pole that is easier to take with you; perhaps if you intend to fish away from your own property and don't want to haul your 7' pole... You'd buy a telescopic rod, right? Well don't buy this one. It takes 5 minutes to telescope. Very very expensive for a very cheap, poorly designed rod. It would not have been difficult to create a rod that remains lined-up as it extends and collapses...for us to have to extend the rod then line up the eyelets, then line up secondary eyelets is completely nonsensical. $6 rod for $50. The storage case they send is to prevent the poorly designed eyelet assemblies from rotating all over the place while is de-telescoped... You're paying for the case; the rod is worth nothing. Imagine buying a car you have align your wheels Everytime you drive it...imagine buying a house you have re-level your door Everytime you use it... Imagine having to completely re-lace your shoes Everytime you put them on. It's the opposite of functional or valuable. It is a poorly designed, time-sink product. Entirely half-a$$ed design.Like...just build a keyway or rail system into each section so that it keeps itself aligned...I don't want to align a bunch of sections and eyelets Everytime I stop to fish...you only get a few casts per stop; and setting up the pole takes longer than the actual time fishing.

Best rod EVER !!!!!!
I love this rod for so many reasons! But the main reason is that I can transport it so easily without worrying that it breaks in my car or truck. Once you learn how to extend and retract it, it takes only a few seconds to set up and start fishing. Hooksets are solid and the handles are soft and comfortable. The price is also incredible for what you get. Highly recommend!

Takes longer to set up / tear down with these awkward floating guides...
I already have 2-3 Sougayilang telescopic rods and I absolutely love 'em.But this one is quite the bizarre. All the telescopic rods I own, you extend each section, starting from the tip (smallest) going the to bottom (fattest), and whichever way you like, BAM! 5 seconds and you're done. But with this one, NO, they had to get fancy and introduce some 'floating' guides....So you extend the 5-6 sections like you'd do with any telescopic rod, but then you need to line up and secure 5-6 additional floating guides..... Urgh.....And collapsing it is as painful.... Free the floating guides, then collapse it....Why why why ???Thankfully, I found that my question was answered. Apparently these floating guides are a common thing on high end rods, to distribute the line weight evenly and improve casting. So, at least it's comforting to know that it's not specific to that rod....I'll give an update after having used it for a while. Who knows, I might learn to love it. :)

Broke after a few use
I bought this for my son back in May. He used this fishing rod about 10 times and it is already broken. It is portable, but not durable at all.

The rod is very light and sturdy
The Customer Service for Sougayilang is AMAZING!the rod itself is very good, light, with a decent cast. Only problem is that the Abu Garcia reel i put on it is tightened all the way and it still moves in the slot, only solution i can come up with will be electrical tape the tips to hold it tightly in place. Last thing you want is a loose reel on a large hookup.

I can ride my motorcycle to go fishing!!
A full size pole that fits in my backpack! I can take it with me on my motorcycle! I was surprised at how sturdy it is. I hate flimsy poles and I was worried when I ordered it but it is very sturdy and is perfect for me.
