Botswana & Namibia 3 (Lonely Planet)

The latest edition of LP's Botswana and Namibia is the most practical and informative guide to planning an expedition to this most amazing part of Africa. It is superbly organized and thorough and will be our most treasured companion in our forthcoming six week trek through Botswana. We have learned to trust LP's guidebooks through first-hand use throughout Africa and Asia. We have learned that when traveling independently, Lonely Planet is indispensable in clearly explaining all the little things that might otherwise confound a traveler. It's like having a local expert at your elbow to answer every question.

If you like doing it yourself L.P. always comes through. they make you feel like you were the first ones down the road.

Great resource. Enough information in compact form. Gives us opportunity to learn about the area we plan to visit, distanced and accommodation. Also re culture and expectations. Thank you.

I depend on Lonely Planet for my travels. I trust it's opinions.

You can probably find most of the information online before you go. Some of the info on the attractions in Botswana was outdated even though the publishers claim it was updated in July 2013. We went in Sept 2013 and found the Crocodile Farm in Maun had been closed for over 6 months and that the museam was more of a art gallery. The maps are helpful as are the descriptions of all of the wildlife and game. Might be helpful for Namibia but was not an essential part of our Botswana trip.
