It didn't do an absolutely perfect job, but very very close. It is a powder and it must dissolve to be effective. Hard to deal with having a front load washer. Soaking first is important step. I tested with hard item, white baseball pants!

My kid plays high school baseball in white pants on a clay/grass field. I soak the stained pants overnight in this detergent (after going over the stains with a bar of Fells Naptha Soap). Then I wash with regular detergent. Best way to get those pants looking good for the next game.
