I am a hat guy. As a kid, and to this day, I appreciate a nice looking hat. I just opened the box from DelMonico Hatter and this hat is my new favorite. They are a great store to deal with. Customer service is top notch. The hat arrived on time, and in a box big enough to secure it. The hat is well made and the details are just right. Its a little roomy so I have put a little piece of padding inside the hat band to snug it up. They include a note with the package telling me I can call and request their hat snugging little thing and I did since its a touch on the loose side. I ordered the color "serpent". Like a brownish green. Somebody might say "olive". The color and shape are really what I expected and I enjoy the fact that it can be worn with anything. I really like when the DelMonico Hat shop has a deal on something. They always treat my hats great so they get to my house in the way they should. No worries about any damage, or the hat being off center, etc. Any future summer hat purchase will end up with Baileys from DelMonicos.Update: I just bought the grey oxford mix. Its a sale item, how could I refuse. So the medium is snug, but it is better than too loose when I cut my hair way down for summer. I like the look and fit, came in a smaller box, but is crushable so no worries. Love the look, the light color will be nice in the summer sun. Great hats.

Good price and a good looking hat. The band is tight/streamlined, the felt is good (smooth, no cracks or fuzzy/worn look), and it retains its shape. I normally wear a 7 1/4 inch hat, or a 7 1/2 and shrink it down to a 7 1/4 in the wash. The large fits perfectly (neither loose or snug), and the inside is soft and as comfortable as any hat I've worn. The brim is slightly wider than what the camera angle would suggest, but not in a bad way. Some of the camera angles make it look close to a trilby, but this is definitely a classic fedora in size and shape. I have no problems recommending this hat as it met every hope/expectation I had. I own both the black and cognac versions.

I have got quite a few compliments on my new hat. Keeps my head warm on these very cold winter days. Looks good with my long length wool coat and scarf. Purchased a medium size.Was a little loose, but a smaller size would definitely be too tight a fit. I have this problem with most hats. With a small strip of felt to fit inside the band that I bought for 25 cents, it fits perfect. Very happy with the quality of material and should have years of good use. Would recommend this stylish hat for anyone looking for quality head gear.

The hat can barely be called a hat. So flimsy. Bought this as a gift for my father. He wanted a felt black hat Like Sinatra would wear.This hat came in an envelope lined with bubble wrap. I am not sure you would even ship a baseball cap that way. Came flat as a pancake. Not lined so to get any kind of shape into it and hold its form was impossible. For $120.00+ definately a rip off! So upset. Cannot be bothered to spend more money to return it. It hangs on his halltree as a reminder to us "Buyer Beware"!

In my opinion, this is a pretty good hat for the price. Fit is excellent - XXL for a 7 3/4 was perfect. Fit and finish seems good - indicative of a high-quality manufacture. I have not had a chance to pack / crush the hat (I tend not to do this to my hats, even with those that advertise this as a selling point), so I don't know how well it will hold its shape having been crushed. The band color is decent enough contrast with the grey felt - some reviewers indicated that the contrast wasn't so good. The band on the hat I received (grey) was almost a brown color, but it was OK. My one complaint - even though the hat was advertised as water resistant (one of the major reasons for buying a hat like this), the color on the band ran on the first occasion of getting wet - the band now exhibits pronounced water marks after the first time in the rain. But overall, so far, a solid performer.

I was looking for a 40's period style hat to go with a suit for swing dances and theme parties, but also something that I could wear to work on rainy mornings and this hat fits the bill perfectly. Its stylish without looking cartoonish, with a comfortable sweatband and, even though its unlined, I don't mind as I'm wearing it in Florida. The hat's main job is to look good and to keep the rain off of me, and it does both wonderfully. I wish it was offered with different colors of bands, as it would look really good with either a black or a light silver band. As it is, I couldn't ask for better.

The Bailey Hat is one of the best on the American market and the "CURTIS" is a top notch model that is gorgeous to look at and practical to own. The craftsmanship is superlative, the felt is soft and supple while holding it's shape, and the shorter crown/wide brim make for an exciting adventure whenever I put it on. It creates a Harrison Ford/Humphrey Bogart type persona by just wearing it cocked over one eye without any help from you. Delmonico Hatters delivered my hat extremely fast and packed it very well to avoid any shipment damage. One of the best online purchases I have ever experienced. Thumbs up to AMAZON and DELMONICO HATTERS !!!!

I usually wear a 7 1/4, and this Large was just a bit snug on me, but I'd think an Extra Large would have been too big, so I'm hoping it will stretch a bit as I wear it and it should be perfect. Quality is great for this price point, nice heavy wool felt and the exact style I was looking for. This is not a flimsy hat, it has shape and weight. I am extremely pleased with it and I'll look to Bailey first for my next lid.
