The word is a portmanteau of the words thin and insulate, trademarked by 3M. Thinsulate fibers are thinner than the polyester fibers normally used in insulation for clothing such as gloves or winter jackets. Thinsulate is considered "the warmest thin apparel insulation" available. When equal thicknesses are compared, it provides about 1½ times the warmth of down and about twice the warmth of other high-loft insulation materials.

very warm- the mitten "cap" is a bit hard to secure in the open position with the gloves on
definitely does the job to keep you warm (i tested these in idaho winter) and having use of your fingertips is a game changer. that being said:1. the mitten "tops" when left in open position are quite bulky and "look weird". If you don't care about this- not a problem. If you want nice looking mittens- this may be an issue.2. the small mitten straps to secure it in the open position are a bit too small- it's basically impossible to secure them open while having the gloves on (which is the only time you'd be doing this). Part of that is that the button hold (which you secure to the button on the back of the mitten to lock them open) is reinforced material which is a good thing. They just need to make it a bit bigger. As a result, most of the time I had floppy mittens bouncing whenever i'd have the fingertips exposed. Again, if aesthetics is your thing- this may be a problem.3. This can be a good or bad depending on what's important to you. i did read a review for a different product that they "were glad the thumb was exposed'- and I'd have to agree after having these gloves in which the thumb doesn't open up. As it turns out, most everything you do with your hands requires the thumb to be successful- so it's ALMOST like having your 4 fingertips exposed except your thumb- is almost a waste of time. almost. So if you're getting these because you need to have effective functionality of your hands at times- i would recommend finding one that either doesn't have a thumb cover, or exposes the thumb fingertip too. if you'rre main reason for getting these is to keep your hands warm with the occasional need of simple tasks (aka using your smart phone WOULD NOT qualify as a simple task in this case with finger gestures), then these will work very well.Lastly, the material seems to shred and loosen a bit too easily (threads almost immediately start fuzzing and loosening)- but not to the point yet of weakening the glove. also, would be nice to have tactile fingertip pad on the thumb- that might alleviate item #3 above. So these are great gloves. Whether it's for you or not depends on the above items.

Exactly what I needed
My great grandson has Down Syndrome and has a hard time putting on gloves. It’s a challenge getting all his fingers in the right place. these gloves allowed him to be independent and he’s able to put them on himself. Thqnk

Well Made, But Run Small
They were too small to fit an adult with M/L to Large hands

WAY TOO SMALL
The gloves look like quality items, but were WAY too small. I was able to slip my fingers inside, but only to the second knuckle. No chance of fitting my whole hand. I gave 2 stars because the gloves fit my little brother, tightly, and now belong to him.

Good quality
Good quality, but geared more towards small/medium hands.

They do the job.
I like this type of glove, I like that these are lined.I live in N Cali, these keep my hands warm most of the time, these would not work in colder climates.

Love them. I use these all day un the winter. They have the air in where I work even in the winter. (Post Covid world) I slipped the top part down and go on with my day.

Perfectos, pero problemas con la talla
Están muy bien, de hecho es bueno que hayan cambiado el velcro por un botón en el sujetador del cubre dedos pero, la talla es muu pequeña. No me quedaron y los tuve que regalar
