A-B comparison test.
First to clear up a few things, 1) I'm no expert. 2) This antenna and coax has an RP-SMA connection. So not all cameras/units will be a PR-SMA. This means you need an RP-SMA to Regular SMA coupler. Easily be found on Amazon for a few bucks. 3) my test was with a backup camera that I use with several trailers, camper, and farm equipment. 4) My A-B test was with my backup camera mounted where it needed to be on my truck. My first A] test was with an OEM antenna, my walking distance away from its mount was 300 feet in an open line of sight when I lost connection. My B] test was with the BearExtender. I walked 1050 feet before I lost the signal. This is three times the range wow I am impressed. Understand a few things here, I mounted the BearExtender up and with a better line of sight. The 7 dB gain is yes improving the range and low loss cable is what makes this work so well. That being said, another factor here is yes the coax is high loss and works great. But with this high of a frequency, you can not add a large amount of coax because the cable loss gets to a point where you lose the 7 dB gain. Your application and results may vary.

Good for a sheet metal building
I have a sheet metal garage 150ft away from the house. With the doors closed, there is no Wifi signal available. I removed one of the three antenna from my Asus AC2900 and installed this antenna and mounted it outside the garage, through a drilled hole for the cable. Magnet holds it well to the garage. I now have good wifi signal from the house, into the garage, for security cameras mounted there.

Very good for extending ur WiFi reach but don't expect a half mile. From my test it works good 100 to 1000 feet and of courseThe farther you are even if you show full bars on your WiFi your internet speeds will be less or varyI guess it depends also on the router at other side. Safe to say up too 300 feet youGet good speeds again all depending on the router of course. Be sure to order the extra separate bigger antenna makes big difference when you have trouble getting connected works much better has better gain

Excellent
This antenna is great. It out competes my stock 9dbi antenna when placed in the exact same position. But this one can go outside and the magnetic base is strong. So it gives me even better signal then that because I can place it on the outside of my rv. Very well built. Don't let the dbi ratings fool you. I think many manufacturers bend the truth on them and these guys are being real.

Great but...
The packaging looked fine but antenna had a bend in it. Easily bent back and works great for my RV wireless backup camera. The magnet is strong enough for highway speed but the rubberized cover for the base just fell off. I'll need to glue it on so it does not have the magnet directly touching paint of my truck. would buy again and if I had not needed it to use the day it was received I would have returned it for replacement from the shipment customization.

Does What Its Supposed To
Dont let the product description confuse you with fancy technical terms and requiring Bear compatible blah, blah, blah. This antenna will help any wi-fi device with a detachable antenna get better reception. THAT is what its designed for and it works great. It connects to ANY device (doesnt have to be a router or PC) with one of those small antennas that screw on to the back of the device. AGAIN, dont let the technical mumbo jumbo confuse you!As an example, I have a small internet radio (connects to the house wi-fi and provides music streaming via Pandora, etc) with a small, 4" antenna. The radio is in my work shed which is about 15 feet from the house modem/router. The signal strength with stock antenna was about two bars; with this antenna, plugged in via the 12' cable, its now a strong 5 bars.HIghly recommended.

Great for AV receiver!
I am using it for one of my Denon AV receivers that wasn’t getting a WiFi signal with the factory antennas. This antenna gave me full signal strength. It is like night and day - I am very very satisfied! Thank you!
