This is a good candle for the price. Runs on 3 AAA batteries and has a nice light. It does not last as long as my candles that use C batteries, but that ie to be expected.

I think the timer function is a great asset to the battery operated candle. That will help me preserve battery life and enjoy the glow from my patio every night. It is not the most realistic battery operated candle I have ever seen. The bulb is up kind of high so you can actually see it from most angles. The shape of the candle and the "melted wax" feature add to the artificial look of it. However, it will definitely enhance the look of my evening patio and I am happy with the timer function.**UPDATE** The candles stopped lighting up at night and I felt like the batteries didn't last too long, but when I looked up this review and realized they had lasted more than five months on the automatic setting, I felt much better. Getting ready to put in new batteries and enjoy another five plus months of flickering candlelight without lifting a finger.

I absolutely love this LED candle! I'm not usually a fan of 'fake' candles but I really love this one. It flickers a little like a real candle and is much brighter than other LED candles I've had. But my favorite feature of this is the 5 hour timer! Not 5 hours on - 5 hours off but it stays on for 5 hours and will shut itself off and go back on again at the same time the following day for 5 hours and so on... LOVE it! I put it in a beautiful lantern I purchased recently and now its a wonderful glowing lamp on a side table in my living room. I may purchase another of these shortly. I'm definitely giving this a gift.

I tried this one 8" candle just to see if was going to glow down to the base of the candle (it did), if it would flicker (it did), if it would look and feel like real wax (it did), if it was made well (it was), if the flame would also light up (it did), if the battery compartment was made well (it was), if the 3 AAA batteries allowed for hours and hours of light (they did), if the timer worked (it did), and if it would look realistic (it did). I couldn't be more pleased with the candle. It is not super bright. The flickering is more of a subtle brightening and dimming of the over-all glowing. This keeps the candle from being a distraction while one is watching TV. Love It!

I love this product and was so excited when arrived! Unfortunately after about two months it stopped working completely. I’ve change the batteries countless times and it works for about a day before it dies again. For the money it was cute while it lasted, just bummed I can’t return now!

After a few weeks from date of purchase, the candle gave off a very dim light. I needed a Phillips screwdriver to open battery case and change batteries. Simultaneous to that, the rusted switch fell into the hole when I tried to turn on the light.I threw the 8” candle and battery case into the garbage. What a waste of money!!I would ask for my money back, but I threw out the packaging.

The 8” tall candles produce a nice, warm yellow light, and the 5 hour timers work well. The AAA battery life is yet to be determined.This is our 2nd try, since one candle was defective earlier, and both were returned. All of the candles appeared to have a loose metal part, which could have damaged the timer, a wire, or other internal parts. I wonder what the purpose of the floating metal part was?
