AmazonBasics Gaming/Racing Style Office Chair - with Removable Headrest and High Back Cushion - Red (Renewed)

Full disclosure this was my very first gaming chair, after using nothing but office chairs my whole life I wanted to try one without breaking the bank. I know there are much higher quality, more expensive chairs out there so perhaps this wasn't a good first pick, but looking at photos and how they all basically look the same I don't know how much different they can actually be.Long story short, if I sit in this chair with perfect posture, it's not bad, but over the course of an 8+ hour shift / gaming session I'm going to want to change positions at some point and this chair simply doesn't allow that. Sitting in the same position for that length of time will ALWAYS get uncomfortable at some point, even when I'm driving I'll shift my legs around or position my back slightly. I am a slightly bigger guy (5'10" 200lbs), so maybe this would be better for someone a bit more petite, and my posture isn't perfect but I'm sure the same could be said for many people.One article I read on gaming chairs said that office chairs will always be more comfortable than gaming chairs, 100% the only reason people buy gaming chairs are for the look. I believe it. Gaming tournaments etc just wouldn't have the same feel if you saw a couple of leather Executive chairs up on the big stage. Consider buying I guess if you really dig the look, but I think just about any other office chair would be a better investment in the long run.

After assembling the chair it turns out the hydraulic cylinder which raises and lowers the chair was completely non-functional. Customer support originally told me they could fix the issue by replacing the cylinder, but after not hearing back from them for a week, I contacted them again, at which point I was informed that all I could do is return the chair for a refund, after I had already discarded the packaging. To get my refund, I now have to spend several hours dismantling the assembled chair and finding some way to get it packed into a box that UPS will accept. I'm not sure if the hydraulics issue had anything to do with the fact that it was refurbished, but it was a disappointing experience nonetheless. In terms of comfort, I also found the seat to be uncomfortably narrow, to the point where I may have returned the chair even without the hydraulic issues.

Good chair for the price, comfortable for extended hours of gaming with adjustable back piece.
