Easy to use and clean
My wife loves king crab legs. Since I do the cooking, I hated them because of the prep that has to be done to get them ready for eating. I, do have poultry shears that have seen years of service. After watching a Food Channel segment, I decided that it was time for a replacement. These are a dream. Back to the king crab, in a few minutes, I was done. What before was an arduous and even bloody task (the little thorns) could not have been easier. Also, chicken prep (backbones) is a snap. There is an ingenious little hinge that makes cleaning a simple task. Liked them so much, bought another as a gift.

Makes butchering a chicken quick and easy
I found cutting up a chicken was so much easier with these shears than cutting it up with a butcher knife.

Cut the game hens right up
Granted, the bones of game hens are not as thick and tough as a regular chicken. It cut my cornish game hens in half across the breastbone and back bone fairly easily, even with my weak hands and arthitis.

Great kitchen shears
Cuts through chicken great! I like that the parts come apart and you can throw it in the dishwasher.

These break apart too easily
I use these as shears for processing upland birds that I hunt. They are great for breaking down birds. So far they have remained very sharp and cut through bones with little trouble. My one gripe is that the two handle pieces separate very easily when you are using them. On several occasions the blades have come apart and dropped to the ground. While I like these shears, I don't know if I would buy another set of them. The ease at which these blades come apart is too much of a liability in the field.

Works great!
Wow, finally a pair of poultry & meat shears that actually WORKS! I cant even count how many poultry shears that I have tried & have had to throw away because they just didn't work. (One pair, the most expensive of the lot, actually broke when I went to cut a chicken.)Oh and they come apart for easy cleaning...but don't come apart during use when you're in the middle of cutting something (as some high priced others have done.) These have worked great so far.I'm happy that I made this purchase.

The catch is sharpening them
These worked great at first but after a few months of fairly light use they need to be sharpened. But Fiskar blades are weird and are best sharpened at a Fiskar approved sharpening shop. The cost is around $12. More if you need to ship items back and forth. So $12+ every few months on a $20 pair of scissors. Plus the hassle of shipping them or taking them to the sharpening shop.
