Ultimate Victory .com Here's what Mixtape Messiah Chamillionaire needs you to know: He's no longer just a tough-talkin' dude from Texas with a kisser full of diamonds and an armload of music awards. He's also--and this is pretty radical for a rapper--an anti-materialist. So goes the theme of Ultimate Victory, on which his limber voice and way with a lyric serve him well. If you don't see a pattern emerging by "Won't Let You Down" and "Industry Groupie," on which Cham swipes at the motives and ethics endemic to certain lifestyles (and also, in the case of the latter track, expresses real disappointment--how could a groupie do him that way?), the skit that precedes "The Bill Collecta" with Krayzie Bone will get you closer: "They comin' to get what you got/And you tryin' to say you aint got it," he complains about a debtor--it's a familiar scenario, and one he's sick of. "I Think I Love You" gets right to the point: "Money don't bring you nothin' but trouble," he gripes. Less gripey but still great are some collaborations--"Pimp Mode" with homeboy Bun B and "Welcome to the South" with Pimp C ooze Houston charm. The best track, though, is the last one--"The Ultimate Victory" gets at what it's like to be Chamillionaire, a guy with a lot more running through his thoughts than the average cash-obsessed rapping millionaire. --Tammy La Gorce>

ULTIMATE CHAMILLIONAIRE
I have been a Chamillionaire fan since Get Ya Mind Correct. Unlike most rappers, his flows and delivery have only seeemd to improve with time. Over his various mixtapes and other free downloads he lays the bricks for this dope sophomore major label album. From OG slow songs like Pimp Mode (one of my favorites) to the masterful flows he delivers on Hip Hop Police, Chamillionaire shows he can murder any beat. A particularly big selling point, is his lack of unneccessary profanity, and the fact he actually raps about subjects everyone can listen to. Although I also love Three 6 Mafia's gangster street style, I can't say I relate to murdering my enemies in the middle of the night. However, this is not to say that Cham's gone soft on his new release. On tracks like Back to the Streets and Welcome to the South, he shows his rougher side.Chamillionaire's gone a long way since he first dropped with Paul Wall, and although it looked like for a minute there Mr. Grillz was pullin ahead, I'd be willing to bet that Chamillionaire is just starting to get on top of his game.Overall, for 10 bucks its the best deal in rap music right now. Plus -- you're getting some music with some actuall meaning in the lyrics. Just listen to track 12 I Think I Love You -- you'll be sold.P.S. No hate directed towards Paul Wall, I buy all his stuff too. :-)

Yes it was a Victory...well in my book
Well we heard about the battle with Kanye and Curtis on whose album is going to be better. Well I bought this CD at the same time I bought Kanye's and Curtis'. I couldn't wait until I listened to those two albums to see whose were better. I did come to a conclusion between the two but I will give that conclusion on thier reviews. This one is about Chamillionaire's. His album out did both by far. His voice and beats that match has many replayability factors. Check this album out you won't be disappointed.

4.5 stars from Chamillionaire
2 years since his major label debut, Chamillionaire returns right where he left off with his 2nd major label album. Having a nice amount of mixtapes out and major fame and recognition doesn't stop him or throw him in a different direction and he stays true to what made many of us like his work in the first place. With 17 songs on thins one, you get 1 almost classic, 1 ok song, and the other 15 are good, a few being real good songs. Guests aren't too heavy, on a little under half of the songs. Production is nice as well. Kane does 5 songs, Happey Perez & Beat Bullies each do 3, Jonathan Rotem does 2, and The Runners, Dave MG and Play n Skillz each do 1 song. A nice album to have form one of the best from the south.#1 - 8.5#2 - 8.5 (f/ Slick Rick)#3 - 8.5 (good beat)#4 - 8.5 (f/ KC)#5 - 8#6 - 8 (f/ Bun B of UGK)#7 - 7.5 (f/ Lil Wayne -- be better without Wayne)#9 - 8 (f/ Krayzie Bone)#10 - 8.5#11 - 8.5#12 - 9.5 (tight beat)#13 - 9 (nice beat -- about some of society's problems)#14 - 8 (f/ Pimp C {R.I.P.} of UGK)#15 - 8.5 (f/ Lil Ken)#16 - 8#18 - 8 (f/ devin the Dude)#19 - 9Hakeem Seriki -- Houston, TXCheck all my reviews

Consigliato l'ascolto.
