Not a Tactics Book At All... a Major Let-down.
I'm a military vet and ex-cop, so I really pay attention to words like "tactics" or "strategy." Like most martial arts books that use such terms, this book seriously fails to address those topics at all. It covers techniques from 3 different angles, giving only short and simplistic explanation -- literally 1-2 pages -- before hitting you with 30 pages of technique pics with no explanation. Even Bruce Lee's "Tao of Jeet Kune Do," over 40 years old now, gave better explanations and examples of how some of this same art could be applied tactically. So, to me, the book is seriously misnamed... and therefore misleading or intentionally deceitful in it's intent.

Good for study.
Very good tips if you studied wing chun. Easy to understand. Well worth reading, you can learn some self defense here.

Worst Purchase EVER From Amazon
This book is completely useless. Besides a foreword and brief introduction, the entire book is filled with minute illustrations with the intention of teaching the reader self defence. Even the best, previously trained Wing Chin expert will be at a loss to find a use for this book beyond a cool paperweight. I bought this under the mistaken impression it would guide me thru some simple and basic Wing Chun techniques and philosophy. This couldn't have been farther from what I received. With zero explanation of ANY move, and the two pictures from the 1970's showing kind of a "before" pic and "after" pic......I have no idea who could and would gain any usable knowledge from this book. Very expensive, and very disappointing.
