The Bogen 300N Panoramic Head offers smooth 360-degree rotation around a single axis, supporting up to 31 pounds. Designed to replace the Bogen 3414, it works best with the Bogen 3416 Leveling Base or MDeVe tripods and doubles as a turntable base for object panoramas, making it an essential tool for professional photographers seeking flawless panoramic shots.

Bowen 300N Panoramic Head
This adds simplicity, accuracy, and speed when photographing panos. I am able to move to the next shot in sequence without having to look at a scale. When photographing multi row panos, I can accurately return the head to each pan position resulting in a much clearer stitch. As much as I dislike Sunwayfoto, I mounted their panning clamp on the Bogen 300N. I can set the Bogen head index mark on zero. Then pan the camera to the starting point using the Sunwayfoto panning clamp. This allows for an easier starting point setup and easier to keep track of what I'm doing on the Bogen head.. I used the Sunwayfoto clamp only because it was the only one that I had that would fit properly. My only complaint with the 300N is a minor one. I pan my panos clockwise. When doing that, the Index mark for the degrees move backwards. No big deal on that.Tip: the detent screw does not need to be tightly screwed in. Screw it in until it bottoms out and stop. Snugging the screw tightly is not necessary.I have owned many Bogen/Manfrotto things. While I needed to move on to different gear in some cases, Bogen has always been tops in quality. The prosumer can not go wrong with Bogen/Manfrotto.Overall, the head will make things easier and faster and is a valuable addition to any panorama photographer's gear.

None better
Best one out there. Not cheap, though.

Manfrotto head for under $100?
Worth it. I used a knock-off brand for hi res landscape photography but it was sloppy and the stops weren't concise. This does the job. Smooth motion, even in -10f temps.

Solid, well-made Panoramic Head
I read a lot of reviews and checked specs on several products before I settled on this particular Panoramic head. Since I own quite a few Manfrotto products, it was not a difficult decision, really. It's solid, easy to use and has a logical layout. Makes creating panoramic shots very easy. You do need to determine the constraints of your Panoramic Software before starting though. I found my software will not knit together images shot with a 12mm Ultra-Wide angle lens. It works great with a 24mm, though.
