Edge of Darkness Mass Market Paperback – August 4, 2015

Ok I have read only 2 if the authors here in this book the third one I am saving for when I am done with the books I have commitments to .I adore Christine Feehan and love everyone of her books so I was jumping up and down when this book came out . It gave me the stories I craved and the vamps I love.Story 1 is with Christine Feehan=Dark Crime . I was sitting on the edge of my seat .Starting this book I was so happy to see a strong woman here in the states I was so glad that this book was here in the states and not in the Carpathian mountains . The story line was amazing and I cant wait for the next book .Dark Crime by Christine FeehanBlaze knows who killed her father and she has merciless plans for payback. Until a phone call from a seductive stranger pleads with her to wait. Retribution is in his blood, too. Now, he and Blaze will be united in the blood of the guilty. Tonight, vengeance is theirs.In book 2 we have the great Maggie Shayne= woohoo with Dead by Twilight.I was so glad this book came I had been waiting for it for a while and it is so worth the wait. Madison who didnt want to be what she was and had been hiding in plain sight. Until she meets her chosen. I loved the story line it was quite refreshing to have someone who is willing to put forth the effort to be everything she is not and then have to be what she is to save the one she loves . Well Maybe refreshing is not the right word but it is the one I'm useing . I was also glad to see Rhiannon make a cameo in the end.Dead by Twilight by Maggie ShayneBloodsuckers may be an accepted minority but one of them is getting away with murder. Until a female vamp teams with a mortal detective to end the killing spree. Now the night belongs to them—and so does every pleasure and danger lurking in the shadows.I have not yet read the last story in this book but when I do I will finish my review with her story...

This review is for "Dark Crime" by Christine Feehan only. I am not interested in reading the other short stories. That being said, Dark Crime has a bit of a twist too it. Taken place in the U.S, I think I was a bit confused at first becasue initially I though this was going to be Tariq Asenguard's story. It wasn't it was an unfamiliar character to the Dark series Maksim Volkov and his newly found Lifemate Blaze. Dark Crime has that gangster storyline. With the gangsters killing people to take over there property. This happens to Blaze. Her father was viciously beaten and tortured to death by what appears to be a gang of thugs The Hallahan Brothers. The leader of the gang is the mysterious Reginald Coonan. Readers of the Dark series will understand whats going on right away. I am not sure that people who haven't read the Dark series will get whats really happening until further in the story. Basically the last we heard of Tariq, and the triplet brothers Mathais, Tomas and Lojos was back in the Carpathian Mountain. They have been sent to find any women on the list of Physics that hey have.Women with Physic gifts can be converted into Lifemate's to a Carpathian without turning them vampire., but she must be the other half of the Carpathians males soul the one chosen for him for all time. Maksim finds his lifemate in Blaze and they all set out to destroy the Hallahan brothers and the the leader Reginald Coonan. There is lots of action, fight scenes. I didn't like the fact that the Carpathians just don't seem to be as smart or as strong as the Vampire. They take quite the beating before they defeat the Master Vampire and his Puppets. The Romance between Maksim and Blaze is very erotic as all Carpathian and Lifemate romances are. There is another character I am interested in learning more about. She is a Physic Emeline Sanchez and has grown up with Blaze like a sister. I hope we find out who her Lifemate is in future books. The story is good enough for a Short story if you are a fan of the Dark series I would recommend you read it. If not I am just not sure its a Stand Alone, to many important facts are missing. About who and what the Carpathians are and whats going on in there immortal world. I would Highly Recommend you read the entire Dark series. its a Great Series 26 books spanning about 16 years. I read them as soon as they are released an re read them once a year.

Works as it should

Feehan and Shayne are two of my must buys. Having fallen in love with their series, when I saw this companion anthology, I knew I'd need to read it.In Dark Crime, Feehan tells the tale of a woman set on revenge and the vampire/Carpathian who helps her get it.In Dead by Twilight, Shayne shares a story of a prom princess turned vampire who sets out to save humans from things that go bump in the night.In Cimarron Spirit, Lori Herter (who is new to me) writes about an ancient vampire who falls for a young archaeologist who must decide between passion and family.My favorite story was Dead by Twilight with the innocent bobbysoxer who learned to stand on her own two feet after a disaster. The author's voice was very reminiscent of the period and I felt like I was in an old cop story. Fans of vampire stories will love this book and it's a must buy for readers of these fabulous authors.

I will be honest, I only purchased this novel because I am a devout Dark Series reader. Christine Feehan delivered another wonderful segment to the Dark series. Grade A writing all the way. Even the Maggie Shayne offering wasn't bad. However the last story by Lori Herter was completely unnecessary and spoils the flavor of the story. Her story was rushed and had huge plot holes. Perhaps given more time she could have put together a better story but this is not it. If you are a Feehan fan and adore the Dark Series, the book is worth it. The new direction she is going is exciting.

I love this books, in particular, the amazing Carpathian read by Christine Feehan. If you purchase the book for that story alone, you won' be disappointed.

It was absolutely great, although I only read the part by Christine Feehan. If you're s fsn this is a must read!

I definitely recommend this box set. Strong characters in all books, great story line's. I will definitely be looking at books by Maggie Shayne and Lori Better as these are the first books I have read by these authors.

I originally bought this book for one of the authors in it. Their story was great. The other two authors have good stories but they felt very rushed and was difficult to really get into the stories.

I enjoyed this novel but had some reservations the extremely graphic sex in some ways detracted from the development of the plot and took up too much of the first part of the story. That said I look forward to Dark Carosel as it will hopefully resolve my questions as to how Maksim and Tariq fit in to the Carpathian family tree .
