This replaced my previous fountain pump that was always getting clogged (looks exactly like previous pump) and continues to pump. IF AN ADDITIONAL SCREEN (or something similar) could be used as a Pre-filter so leaves and dabree is less likely to clog filter. Would be a nice additive to this filter...I would buy it!

I bought one of these 6 months ago and have been using it to replace a similar pump in our outdoor decorative water fountain. That pump has been working fine. I needed a second pump to remove water from my pool cover. After draining the cover, the pump sounded funny. When I tried to disassemble the pump for inspection, I found it very difficult. The rear cover popped off easily but the front cover did not. I had to use a box cutter to open the seam just enough to insert and twist a screwdriver blade. After removing the front cover, the internal cover was easy to remove by rotating the flanges. It turns out that there was nothing wrong. The pump just rattles when not pumping water.

After trying numerous pumps to replace the pump on my outdoor fountain, this was the one that fit in the small hidden compartment on my fountain. It is adequate to pump the water, but I can hear the motor running… when I would prefer to just hear water trickling. Oh well, I’m done trying to find just the right combination of power and compact size in a pump (needed to fit this fountain) so I’m keeping it. UPDATE: turns out it was my fault. The pump wasn’t working to its full capacity because my hose was kinked. Now is working perfectly, and I am pleased with my purchase. Changed my rating to four stars it would’ve gotten five stars if it had a three prong plug instead of a two prong plug, but that’s my only beef.

We bought a fountain at Costco a few years ago. Nothing fancy, but it fits our backyard decor perfectly. When we went to set up the fountain this spring we discovered that the pump had failed. We went on Amazon and quickly discovered that there are literally hundreds of pumps available for purchase ... all of which bore some resemblance to the pump we needed to replace.We read reviews and placed our pump order ... and so began a story that is quite similar to Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The first pump we bought was way too powerful. It had a flow rate of 880 gallons per hour. When we plugged it in the water was shooting 3' in the air. Not good. Figuring that we needed a less powerful pump, we bought a 80gph pump. This pump was not strong enough to push the water to the top of our fountain. Not good. Using experience as our guide, we figured we needed a pump somewhere between 150gph and 400gph. We saw this pump with its 220gph rating and decided to order it. So glad we did!This pump gives us the perfect "lift". The water bubbles about 6" above the fountain ... which is absolutely perfect. The pump is quiet ... in fact you cannot hear any pump noise. The pump rarely clogs. Once a month I fill the fountain with water and give the mesh intake screen a quick wipe. Maintenance is that simple.I have no idea how long the pump will last since this is our first year running it ... but at the price point it would not bother me to have to replace it. Sure beats the cost at the big box home stores.We are very happy with our purchase. Five stars.

Terrible quality..Cleaned after a week, started up fine and 5 minutes later it was dead. I have tried to re-rinse and impeller seems to spin just fine. It just doesn't work. I want to return, but so far have not been given that option.

I would only change one thing on this a filter around the part that sucks in water because it smaller and I need to keep leaves and stuff wipe off. It works perfectly for what I needed and it does adjust which is what my big old one didn’t. My fountain is tall maybe almost 5 feet and three levels and it works great

Product is as described in the ad, but the noise level is high than expected. I'm hard of hearing but can hear the pump buzzing 20-30 feet away from the fountain.

Used this pump to make a fountain to refill a birdbath. It quietly moves water up from a catch basin reservoir through tubing two feet vertically and then shoots it from the end of the tube another foot in the air into the birdbath.
