Works great, and engages immediately when loaded. It performs better with thicker ropes (at least 10mm), but engages well regardless as long as you’re within the tolerances the manufacturer states. For the price it’s a great option, especially when backed up with another similar device for redundancy. This is a common device for TR soloing, but I didn’t see many mentions of that in other reviews so I thought I’d share. At the end of the day - it goes up with you, and then locks to keep you in place if you weight it or slip/fall. Pretty simple. *Please research safety and redundancy when using any device like this for climbing. Don’t assume you’re good just because you saw a video of it locking.
