Prostar 100% Whey Protein Powder

This Ultimate Nutrition whey-based protein powder is the best I've found for making a quick protein shake (with plain water) as a meal substitute or protein supplement: FIrst of all, it's not too sweet like a few other brands I've tried. (I bought a different product at the store while waiting for this one to arrive and had to give it away because it was so sweet I couldn't drink it.) Secondly, this one gives 25 grams of quality protein per scoop, with only 2 grams of carbohydrate, which is excellent for people who want to use it as a low-carb weight-loss aid. I have used it myself for this purpose, still do on occasion, and you're not likely to find anything with fewer carbs (more typical is about 6 grams per scoop, from what I've seen). The containers themselves are a very sturdy plastic jar with a big, easy to open (and reach into) lid, that make the product easy to scoop out, and which can be used in the kitchen holding other things after you empty them out. (I use one for draining hamburger grease into, and the wide opening makes it perfect for that!) Overall, this is a great product that I can confidently recommend.

The product itself is very good. Great taste and mixes well into my protein shake every morning. It went from being a great buy to an OK buy thanks to Amazon raising the price by $20.00 in the 24 hours from when I put it in my cart until I purchased it.

For the last five years or so, whenever I use my my tub of protein I go ahead and buy a brand I haven't tried before. As such, I have tried quite a few over the years. This one - Ultimate Nutrition Prostar (Chocolate Crème) is about average as such things go. I generally use one scoop, once per day right after my routine, and this lasted me about three and a half months. I didn't see significant increases in bulk, but I'm more on a maintenance schedule right now and haven't changed much, reps-wise. It wasn't too sweet, it had a decent, if a bit thinner consistency, at recommended ratios. It mixes quite well - using a shaker cup, I rarely had clumps of any sort. My usual shake include 2tsp of fiber powder and 1tsp of creatine, and with these the shake comes out about right after about 5 minutes. Seems pretty stable, no gastrointestinal distress or anything. Protein-wise, it's a pretty good deal. Less pricey than my favorite protein powder (Isopure Zero Vanilla) but with about the same protein content. I would say give it a try, if you have half a mind to do so.

After several tryouts and different ways how to drink this (water or milk) I just gave up. Every time a drank it I started feeling nauseous and I wanted vomiting. I had to tossed right to the garbage can almost with the container almost full. Such a waste of money...

Have been using it for a couple of years, both in my home country and here. It's the best value for money reliable whey protein in the market i.e. max amount of protein per dollar. Chocolate and Cocoa Mocha flavors are great, never tried others. Highly recommend it!

I couldn’t find the scoop inside the box. Tried it 3 times to look for it and nothing

Protein powders were found to have heavy metals and lots of other garbage in them (arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead, and toxins like bisphenol A (BPA). No thanks, I'll just eat meat. Idk if this brand in particular was part of the study but google "protein power study" and you'll see.

A little over 5lbs and gives 80 servings. Flavor is good but not as strong as other chocolates. Use a little less water and it's good. Great value, good taste mixes well in room temperature liquid. No complaints from me.

Update - 31 Jan 2018 I recently ordered this product again and on the jar the importer logo was of 'MPN - Muscle pro nutrition'. Ultimate nutrition confirmed that the product is genuine. So MPN is now an official importer too of Ultimate Nutrition. Ultimate will contact you on the email provided by you and ask for snaps of the lot no (Printed on the base of the jar) & the importer sticker. - Reply to the email and they'll get back if your product is authentic or not. ------------------------------- I bought this for Rs 4124/- in a lightening deal during I-Day sale and following are my observations. The product i received is 100% genuine (SELLER - Cloudtail India) and here are a few tips to identify if the product: you ordered is genuine: - Look for the importer sticker on the lid which contains multiple information. (KAR Enterprises is an official importer for this) - Check the hologram reading on the lid too. - The lid has sort of a grip for opening. Refer to the attached picture. - If it is a genuine imported product then there should be a "lot no.", MFD & Date of Expiry provided on the base of this container. - Once the lid is opened there should be an inner seal if it is genuine. - Genuine one mixes easily with water giving a very fine colour and very less lumps whereas fake ones give a very dark color with lots of lumps. - Couple of more steps not limited to this brand but applicable in general. Fake whey tastes too sweet and have a lot of spelling mistakes on the label of the container. Have attached pictures for each of the above step to help in comparison. Pros: - It's easily the cheapest whey protein from one of the more reputed brands. - Gives 25gm of protein per scoop (30gm) which is good. - Low in fat and calories so a very good option for those not looking to gain weight but consume whey protein as supplement to their diet. - Has sources of proteins some which are fast releasing which is important for post workout. has slow releasing protein too which is also beneficial. - Can be consumed both with milk and water. Personally i feel it tastes better with milk. - Has a validity of three years and the product i received was manufactured 6 months back. - Has essential BCAAs.. Cons: - Not a big deal but the taste is not as delicious as the last one i was using (Cookies & cream from Muscle Pharm). VERDICT - Will rate it 5 stars on the initial impressions. Too early to say how effective it is. Will update the review after a month's use.

Got in a good condition...expiry date was 2018...good but,,

This is my second jar of whey protein. My first was rich chocolate regular muscleblaze. So inevitably, some comparisons will be made in this post. Read on. I was looking for a change without breaking the bank. I got ultimate nutrition chocolate creme for a steal on offer - Rs 3.5k. Manufactured in September 2017 and expiring after 2 years. Muscleblaze gives you the false rosy impression that chocolate whey portein is supposed to taste like dairy milk. Taste wise UN is too sweet and tastes artificially of chocolate (mb taste is much better). It leaves a horrid aftertaste. You will find yourself mixing more water. I have started mixing 250-275 ml of water to make it bearable. I am also finding it little harder to digest. The jar is 2.39 kg but its size is exactly the same as my 2kg muscleblaze jar so i don’t think it results in an extra number of servings. Otherwise, UN has higher protein content and seems more promising. Too early to see results, but initial impressions are fair. You can consider this protein over the options in the same price band. Bought it through cloudtail on prime. Delivery was superquick and there was less anxiety about it being a knock off fake protein. All the best! Promit
