Like Tequila & Food With Tequila? History Of? This is Your Book!
Wow. I did not know that Tequila was not aged until the soldiers on the front during the Civil War ran out of Whiskey, and the Mexicans brought Tequila in to satisfy their thirst, then took the empty Whiskey barrels back to Mexico, thus giving us Anejo (aged Tequila). I now have a newfound respect for Blanco as well. Not only do you get a history of the spirit, but also the author's insight during a trek to Tequila country (she's quite charming). Moroever, there are some delightful drinks and food recipes, all with Tequila. This book was light and educational at the same time. It's perfect.

Great Drink and Food Recipes
Read this book on a flight to New York. The cocktails section was great preparation for helping me plan my New York tequila experience. If you are looking for a quick and easy introduction to the history of tequila and how it is made AND you want some a compendium of tequila cocktail and food recipes then this is your book.Joanne is easy to read and her considerable knowledge of tequila is shared in very approachable manner. The book gives you essential knowledge about the history, production and types of tequila in a succinct manner, but the majority of the book is devoted to cocktail and food recipes. The cocktail section not only gives the recipes and preparation description but also the mixologist and the bar who serves the drink. The book was published in 2009, so it will be interesting to see how many are still in business. So if you want an introduction to tequila, well illustration with great pictures, and you also want a reference for cocktails and food, don’t pass up this book. about my quest to learn about tequila at allthingstequila.com Read more
