CLEAR, INFORMATIVE, SHORT AND SWEET
I think the intention of the author was to write a simple book, cover some of the highlights, add a few technical points and keep the cost down. He seemed to do this well. It was written well, the facts presented were accurate and its great for someone that doesn't have a lot of time to wade through technical journals for details. If I had to compare it, the book it was like a primer. Good work. Would recommend this to anyone.

Very outdated
All of the information in this book is from the early 1970s and before. It also gives no info on growing or harvesting.

Informative book!
A well written informative book. I've been doing some research for a school lab report and this was a good addition to what I've been learning. I thought the book was written very well and easy to understand. Peyotes are fascinating, and if you're ever wondering what you can do with the little cactus, this book would give you some great information. This thing has some gnarly powers, to say the least...

Great, Pithy Summary of Mysterious, Magic Peyote Cactus
I liked this book because it's thorough yet not long winded. It covers all major aspects of peyote -- history, future, legality, chemical structure, how and where it's grown, psychological and physical effects, and pros and cons, and the NAC members' stance on recreational use.I recommend it for anyone considering using this most potent substance.

Unbiased, factual, and educational
I had always been curious about Peyote but had never really been able to find something with legitimate information on the subject, seeing as most articles are written with everyone's own views and opinions rather than straight up facts. This book was just what I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find the author giving unbiased facts and back history about it rather than personal opinions. Educational and quite an interesting read!

Almost a waste of money.
This is a very light weight book, both page count and intellectual content. It is full of repetitive factoids, "white space", and typographic errors. I've seen many high school level term papers that are more thorough on their topics. This is a paper or pamphlet disguised as a book.By the way, mescaline is a phenethylamine, not an amphetamine!!! Trichocereus is not a valid genus. The San Pedro cactus and the Peruvian torch cactus both belong to the genus Echinopsis.

Informative on a shallow level
Could have been more in depth, lots of blank space, though does provide a basic understanding of the plant and its uses

Factual. Straight forward
Thanks. stuck to the facts and did not minimize the negatives or try to scared you with making it sound dangerous

Quite interesting but too short
Would have liked more detail around harvesting of mescalineAlso personal experiences of ingestion and the consequences would be good

Waste of money.
Very disappointing, more of a leaflet than a book. Very basic info that can be found everywhere else. No pictures and plenty of spelling errors.
