Westin 25-1455 Signature 3 Round Nerf Bars fits 1996-2002 4Runner 4Door Black Pair

Wife had trouble getting into the 4Runner while pregnant. I didn’t want to get sliders because I’d have to weld them on or drill into the frame. Might even take these off in a few years but just needed something to make getting in easier. Installation was simple, had to wiggle the mounting studs/plates into the existing frame holes but that wasn’t too difficult. The hex/allen head bolts that mount and align the bars are standard, not metric. So I couldn’t use my metric hex head sockets to torque them down to the 19 lb-ft spec but I just used an allen wrench and it seems fine. The nuts used to mount to the frame were easy to torque to the 64 lb-ft spec. Looks pretty nice with them on.

I needed replacement side-steps for my 2000 Toyota 4Runner, as the original side steps had rusted off (after more than 10 years of use). a local Westin-authoized dealer claimed they did not have any on hand and it would take "several weeks" to get a set in. On a lark I checked Amazon and found these exact side steps / nerf bars that I needed, and they arrived three days after I ordered them, via FedEx. My local garage installed them for a nominal fee - they are a solid fit and look great.

Nice steps, the old steps on our 2001 4runner rusted out underneath because of the de-icer used on the highways here in the winter. I am a mechanic so self-installed them. The only problem I ran into was when I went to install the nut inserts into the frame of the car, I had to use a grinder and grind the corners off of one end of the inserts so they could be inserted into the frame openings because they were just a bit too long. The other thing I noticed is that my old step bars had three frame support brackets per step and these only have two, still they seem to be sturdy enough once mounted.

Very happy - switched out the Toyota 4Runner original rusted & broken chrome steps for these cool black one. They look great!

It’s not a bolt on fit. Must be modified and their customer service was very poor. I can’t recommend them or this company in good conscience.

Awesome just like what I had on my 4Runner for over 12 years but my old ones were rusted from hatteras nc and now I'm back in the game

Installation was easy and fit perfectly. I would have given it 5 stars but all of the allen head bolts that attach the backets to the running boards started stripping out at the recommended torque setting of 19ft lbs. Very low quantity hardware. But overall they look nice and work well.
