Durable, well crafted, 5-star customer service!
I’m absolutely in love with my Teakhaus teak cutting boards! (I’m leaving this review for the small board, but I have the larger version of this as well.) The craftsmanship is superb—the board looks stunning and feels incredibly luxurious. The juice groove and ergonomic grip handles are so helpful. One of the biggest selling points for me is the moisture (and mold) resistance of teak—no more lingering garlic smells or strawberry streaks on my boards! It’s also much gentler on my knives. As a fan of the Buy-It-For-Life (BIFL) Reddit forums, I debated between Teakhaus and Boos. Ultimately, I chose Teakhaus because of their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility (their boards are made from 100% sustainably sourced wood from FSC certified forests). On top of that, their customer service is exceptional—prompt, helpful, and genuinely kind. I’m officially a customer for life. Happy cooking!

Love! It’s beautiful.
I love this cutting board!! It’s beautiful. And after doing much research on wooden cutting boards, teakwood seems to be the sturdiest and most healthy (as long as there isn’t any toxic finishing on it). Supposedly, Teakhaus doesn’t use any toxic finishing and is a trusted brand for teakwood cutting boards. Will buy more when we have a bigger kitchen!Note: need a buy some cutting board oil for it to keep it from drying out after washing.

Good board but…
This is a nice cutting board. A good weight, good size. Easy to clean. Wood is better than plastic cutting boards. It keeps plastic microparticles out of my food and my knives stay sharper longer. 4 stars because it came with a minor crack on one side. We’ll see how long it takes to split through to the other side. I have only had it 2 months but it gets used and washed every day. So far so good.

Beautiful, Nice Size, Well Made
First of all, the board I received is beautiful, with a nice smoothly finished surface all around, except for one very small, almost unnoticeable 1/4" nick under one of the handles. So, it's not perfect, but it's no where near the cutting area, and it certainly wasn't worth even considering returning, especially when everything else about the board is so fantastic.Of course the board comes completely naked, with no finish, so it's imperative that you apply a mineral oil finish BEFORE you use it. I used Howard BBC012 Butcher Block Conditioner, and as soon as I began rubbing it in, the wood's grain came alive. It's very important to heat up your mineral oil. The Howard's conditioner (which also contains bees wax) was more gel like when it arrived, and it needed to be heated to the point that it finally became liquid, and that's when it really began soaking deep into the wood. I applied 2 coats the day the board arrived, letting it sit overnight, then applied a 3rd coat the next day. The way it makes the grain shine is amazing, and the bees wax helps provide a moisture barrier for the wood. It's funny, I had thought this 18x14 board might be too large for my tiny kitchen, and had considered the 16x12 board, but this one is absolutely the perfect size. I had also considered some of the 2" thick boards, but again, this 3/4" thick board is perfect. It has enough heft to not move at all during cutting, but it's still relatively easy to maneuver for cleaning in the sink. By the way, it's important to NOT let these soak in water when cleaning, and to always dry them before putting away. Simply clean with soap and water, then quickly dry with a towel.I use this primarily for chopping veggies for my evening salad, and I can't imagine anything more suited for that purpose than this board. I'll report back in 6 months or a year, but for now, I'm a happy camper.

Top rate fit and finish, attractive, perfect for high quality knives
My new favorite cutting board. I replaced two bamboo cutting boards that were constantly dulling my Nafzger and Tojiro knives and relegated them to use as oversized trivets. The fit and finish of the Teakhaus board is top notch - no complaints. Bamboo is very hard and the striations on the wood grain are tough on knife blades. Bamboo boards are find for use with a meat cleaver but not for top end cutlery. The teak board I got was exactly as pictured and the dimensions are spot on. The groove is cut about halfway into the board which is 3/4" thick. I read some of the 1 star reviews about these boards warping and I have a suspicion that some or all of these folks put the board in the dishwasher which you absolutely should NOT do. You should also oil BOTH sides of the board monthly or more often if it's hand washed frequently. I use mineral oil because it's non-toxic, cheap and won't oxidize like olive or canola oil.I've had this board a few weeks and use it daily. I oiled it on arrival and let is soak in the oil overnight and then wiped dry with a paper towel. The boards gets hand washed in lukewarm water with dish soap and rinsed clean and then dried. If I have any issues in the future, I'll report back

Durable, sturdy perfect for small tasks
We use many cutting tables that are very large, so this one is great for cutting one fruit or just 1 serving of lettuce because it is easy to handle and wash.

Very “fuzzy” and splintery out of box
It’s extremely splintered straight out of the box and not at all smooth
