I just bought this flashlight for use on a liveaboard diving trip in the caribbean with 27 dives and here's my experience.First of all I will start out with the disclaimer that the flashlight comes without batteries. This I believe is true for all flashlights that are shipped with prime 2 day shipping since lithium batteries require different shipping methods. Regardless, the batteries that they use are so common, they are used in drill batteries, laptop batteries, power banks, and ecigs/vapes. This is definitely a plus. If you need a battery charger last minute the best place to get one believe it or not is a vape shop. They will have many on hand that will charge 4 batteries at a time for 20-30 dollars.Now for the verdict.. The consensus with the 15 seasoned divers on the liveaboard is that it's the best flashlight any of them had seen, and this includes some who have filmed marine life professionally.I am an avid night diver and one thing I know is that it is hard to get good night footage with a gopro and a dive light. That is not the case with this flashlight at all. As you can see from my video it is way more powerful and way wider of a beam than any of the other divers (not even on the high setting), which makes for very crisp and clear video footage on night dives (just see the octopus night shot). I love this because some of the most interesting creatures don't often come out besides during the night and before now I could never get good footage.I also tried the red and blue settings during the night dives. The red setting is a little weird to use, but since at depth there is little to no red light many fish species have eyes that are not sensitive to red light, meaning that it does not disturb them. This would be especially true for species with no eyelids like sea horses, or creatures like sea turtles who sleep at night that would otherwise be woken up by a regular white flashlight and in confusion try to take a breath under water.... Not good... The blue light is interesting to use because some types of coral tend to glow under blue light. I found this especially true for brain coral which glowed bright green under the blue light.I found this flashlight so powerful that I found good use for it on daytime dives too. I never would have thought to use a flashlight during a day dive, but I found that it was powerful enough to replace the lost spectrums of light at depth and great for peeking into the odd crevice. Since red light is filtered out by water at depth, most pictures and videos will look blue green and you would have to use a red filter which still doesn't work great or post process the videos. Well..... I included some shots before and after just turning on the flashlight and the result is INCREDIBLE. I bring it on every dive now on a retractor and pull it out to get a full spectrum shot.All I can say is it is a great flashlight, and 15 experienced divers say so too.

I cant say what kind of light this will produce on a dive, but in testing it at home it is not nearly as bright as my 2,500 lumen lights. So I am guessing that eecoo somehow just added and extra zero in its description somehow. The case is very sturdy, similar to other professional - quality lights I have, the red and blue supplemental lights are interesting but it seems to sap the battery at a higher rate than just the white lights. I bought 9800mau batteries for the lights, but they do not last very long, so far not much more than 45 minutes.

Bought this for Kona Manta ray dive. The light was so powerful it attracted a lot of planktons. I did remove the double o rings to be re-grease with silicon grease prior to first use. No problem with waterproofing. The light is truely remarkable for the price. I realised, though there are 4x 18650 li ion batteries, they do not drain off uniformly. I suspect the battery maybe coupled to the light selection. Not sure how they work internally. At the end of 2 dives each lasting an hour long. 2 of my batteries were flat, 1 was 10%, the last one was 72%. Overall a good torch. Highly recommended.

I purchased this light just under a year to the date of failure.Apparently, there are O-rings in the buttons that need to be maintained, That little bit of information would have saved it from failing.I used the light(s) for SCUBA diving (not exceeding dept limits), and it lasted about forty (40-60 Minute) dives over the year.I am very careful to maintain my equipment, inspect it and take extra precautions to make sure it is completely sealed closed.The button for the white lights has malfunctioned, but the red/blue light button still works.I have purchased 4 of these lights over the years for SCUBA and around the house when not on dive vacations, they are great, just be careful to check the buttons and O-rings.Oh, and carrying the extra batteries through TSA and customs is also a bit of a pain because they are heavy and must be removed from the light to prevent a fire hazard.They cannot be placed in checked baggage, they will be removed from your luggage, and you will be flagged upon arrival (without your batteries) for a stern talking to by TSA and airline officials. Yes, it happened.If you do decide to buy this unit, go ahead and purchase replacement rechargeable batteries online, Thay are not sold in very many stores or on the islands.With that said, I am now about to purchase a replacement light (another brand) that has built in rechargeable battery cell that has a button lock to prevent accidental operation.I hope this review help others in their quest for a good dive video/photography light.

The intention to use was for diving. Unfortunately, brightness underwater is not what I expected. Maybe(!) For wrecks is working nice. Tried to use it as aid for underwater photography, as well not helpful. Thickness -pretty grossy but you can use the mount. Mine (the box) was opened before.Outdoor is very bright but difficult to handle. Overall I think was made to be bright in night on land and handling underwater. Battery life, depends what you buy as the item comes without batteries.
