Perfect: A Novel

Perfect
This book brought my emotional house down! I truly understood and could relate to the primary character and her quest for the perfect body. I can also relate to her many health problems brought on by this quest, plus her emotional states, intelligence, and isolation. This book is a useful tool for those seeking to further understand eating disorders and the incredible mentality that provokes them. The character is heroic in her final attempts to save her own life by calling on her mother, thus reuniting them, despite the horrible circumstances it is under. The profound perplexity that the girl's mother is a cardiac surgeon only adds to the depth and drama that this dynamic story carries as its true weight.

A staple book for any classroom!
This book has been a staple in my library since I was young. I wasn’t going to take my personal copy to my classroom, so I purchased another copy. Every middle school girl should read this book!

required summer reading
This book was a summer reading assignment for my daughter. At first I was apprehensive because of the heavy content in the book around bulimia, death and low self esteem issues, but she enjoyed the reading and was able to capture the positive message.

Purchased for a 12-year-old advanced reader
I purchased Perfect: A Novel for a 12-yr-old advanced reader and she loved it. She says other middle-school girls would also be interested in the topics presented.

Apologies
I sent in a review for a product I purchased through 5KBooks. The review was for someone else and not them. I apologize and would like everyone to know that they are a great place to get books or other product from. Thank you and I am sorry for the review I left by mistake.

This book was well written
I thought this book was very well written. I think a lot of people think that eating disorders only apply to a certain group, which is not true at all.The victims can be male or female, "fat" or "skinny", older or younger....ect.In this book, one of the victims is from a wealthy family and she's what some would consider "popular" in her school. She's an overachiever, well organized, with a bunch of friends. She's not supposed to have problems......or so from the outsider looking in, would think. This book was definitely worth the read!
