Politics and forbidden love...
This book had moments where I audibly gasped a bit in surprise and moments where I kinda squealed out loud in delight. I just had a really good time reading this book. The MC’s are Madeline Stratton, the conservative mayor of a large Southwest U.S. city, and Jo Carson, a deeply closeted speech writer working in the mayor’s office. A scandal caused by the mayor’s husband brings them closer together but that same scandal threatens to bring everyone’s secrets into the light. I couldn’t put this book down until I was finished but I was very happy every minute of the way.

seemingly homophobic politician w past secrets meets writer who gives reason to dream
I loved the slow, tension-filled unfolding of romance between the two main characters but was caught up more in the political strife and media dynamics centered around an ultra-conservative politician whose "virtues" and "values" could not keep her from being her true self in the end--the inevitable scandal. this one kept me glued ...and really liked how slow but tension-filled the feelings between Jo and Madeline transpired. enjoyed this one...

I am glad I purchased this book. It was an interesting story about a Mayor who is married and finds out her husband was cheating on her. She ends up hiding at a staff members apartment. During the stay they both discover new and old things about each other. I like that this book addresses issues for lesbians with the pressures to be strait because of beliefs, politics and family.

Liked the political aspect and the twist there but weak on the ending. Needed more development in the relationship between the 2 main characters. Overall it was just ok. It has been a few days since I read it and nothing really stands out about it.

Don't pay $9.99
This is a lesbian Harlequin but more poorly written and certainly more expensive. The POVs were out of control! Romantic interludes x1, 2/10. Story line wasn't bad but pretty complex to make the solutions seem so idealistic as to be cavalier. Why are these $9.99 vs. 3.95 (Harlequin). Who drives the pricing? The writers or Kindle?

Captivating and entertaining
excellent story line and plotthere were so many changes in the direction of the story it kept me coming back for moreMost importantly it tells it like it is in the bible belt where anything that goes away from the accepted norm is frowned uponTo Riley Scott a job well done

Great book with believable characters
The characters in this book were believable and had depth to capture the reader's attention from the beginning. The story had twists and turns to keep one wondering what was going to happen. The ending was believable and I wanted to read more!

this was a great book true and to the point. Reality set in and clearly made their lives to commend what life in general about. Really a good book that I enjoyed.

Not long enough for the price...
This book was OK. I was looking forward to reading it but it only took me an hour and a half and so for the price I felt a little bit robbed. The story was ok but there could have been a lot more to it.
