Great detergent & excellent value!
It may be silly to review a laundry detergent, but Vaska's Perfect Laundry Detergent is pretty great! First of all, it works: and you only need to use a little (I use even less than they recommend, with excellent results), so it lasts a really long time (in case you're balking at the price). Second, it's biodegradeable (no phosphates, dyes, NPEs, optical brighteners, etc.) and the packaging uses 50% recycled materials. It's also made in the U.S.---which was no small factor in encouraging me to buy it and keep buying it.The scent-free version is great if you hate (as I do), that overwhelming perfume-y smell of most laundry detergent brands.(I don't even want to buy the unscented versions of TIde, etc. because I don't want to support the manufacturers of those products.) My local store stopped carrying Vaska detergent (whyyyy?), so I was really happy to find it here on Amazon.

Soft towels, finally!
I have had hard, crunchy towels for years now. Whether it's hard water or my front loader or something else remains to be seen, but the towels were driving me crazy! I have purchased new towels several times and experimented--only laundered in warm, delicate cycle, low heat dry; cold water, delicate, low, etc. etc. I've used multiple detergents, softeners, and dryer sheets (even though I know you're not supposed to use softening agents on towels-I was desperate!). You name it, I've tried it. I read online about Vaska and decided to try it. Within ONE load, I had softer towels. The difference is amazing. Even my husband noticed. I like that there's no optical brighteners (I have dark colored towels). I have used it on clothing. Those clothes come out soft and fragrance free. Vaska has a permanent place in my laundry room.

Not truly Scent Free!!
I would like to start off that I am a huge fan of Vaska's laundry tablets and have used them exclusively for almost 3 years. My local Costco used to carry their tablets in a fantastic 90 tab pack but they've downsized their inventory. :(So while trying to find more of this product I came across their liquid-style detergent. As someone with HIGHLY sensitive nose to scents/fragrance, I was thrilled to see the offered two different liquid versions. Lavender Scented and Scent Free. Of course I purchased the unscented as that is what I already use in the tablets. I didn't even think of looking at their ingredients as this one looked like it mirrored their tablet version.Upon using it the first time, I noticed my laundry had a scent that I wasn't expecting and couldn't quite peg. However after the 2nd load I figured out it was the detergent and upon inspection of the "ingredients" found that the unscented version still contained Lavender Essential Oil. Why I don't understand as the tablet version doesn't include it plus they already have a liquid version in Lavender!! The scent ended up giving me a terrible headache. Amazon made it right though with a refund after I reached out to them via chat (it said it wasn't return eligible.)So I have learned my lesson and gone back to their tablets. I'm at least thankful it's part of the Amazon Subscribe & Save program given it's only 25 tablets at a time.

greywater ok so far
It's been working well so far with our greywater system. The laundry water empties to a bed with roses, rosemary and a sage. Been using it for half a year and the plants look fine. There were a couple CA native plants also in that bed, but they did not fare so well. I think that has to do more with the plant selection than the detergent though. CA natives are kind of fussy about greywater. The cleaning power of the detergent is not great, but it works sufficiently. I have to wash more clothes in warm water more often then I'd like to get it to clean enough.

I've had a good experience with this detergent
I've had a good experience with this detergent. I usually use double the recommended amount because I am washing a large load, and I wash with non-chlorine bleach. However I am looking for a more 'natural' detergent and I feel Vaska does not live up to it's claims. It's ingredient list is very vague. I tried to convince myself it was still natural because it does clean my clothes quite well but I checked EWG's website and it received a D grade. So for now, I'm going to try some alternatives (heard BioKleen was pretty good).

Gets Bad Odor Out
Love this product. Gets the bad odor out of teenager's football gear and bed-wetter's night clothes. Was having to add Oxyclean or other additives to help with the smell but not now. This detergent does it all on its own. Just FYI: read the directions and don't use too much; save yourself some money because you only use a small amount. Read online that NFL and colege teams are using it.

Have used practically since this came out
The claims that this detergent maintains the integrity of the cloth and the colors is true. My favorite and go to brand

Great natural laundry product
Great natural laundry product. I've been using this exclusively on every load (towels, linens, baby, dog, special care, and regular). It has never disappointed me! It leaves everything clean just like the regular commercial detergents. It says scent free although it has a very light scent in the bottle. But I have never smelled any scent on my clothes. I am going on a trip soon and have ordered the laundry tablets for laundry on the go. I am hoping they work just as well.
