Great for Beginners
I got this after watching a bunch of videos and reviews because I knew absolutely nothing about quadcopters and didn't know anyone who had one. I finally got it yesterday and it was so much fun!Setup was easy--but I should note that I watched a bunch of youtube videos on setup and flying this quadcopter in preparation while I waited for it to be delivered. When I got it, I read through the directions and then set up the battery charger and batteries. They only took about 1.5 hours to charge up and then I went outside to give it a try.It was really windy so I had to go to a smaller patch of the yard where it was relatively protected. This worked out, except it was ringed by trees, so not ideal. Anyway, I set up everything and flew the 'copter! I've been crashing the heck out of it because I'm such a newbie, but it has survived. And I took several videos and was totally impressed by the quality of the videos. I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to read/play the videos on my computer based upon some of the remarks (I have a Windows 10 laptop) but no problem. Windows Media Player played the AVI files just fine.I did get it caught about 12 feet up in a tree, but we have a stand of bamboo on our property so I chopped a tall piece of bamboo and hooked the 'copter and got it down. No damage at all, even though I expected to break a propeller doing that. In fact, I ended up doing it twice--the second time it got caught in a climbing vine and I really had to yank it out (totally expected to ruin the 'copter) and it still flew after both accidents. I am SO impressed by that. The battery lasted about 7 minutes, and it comes with two. When I'd used both, I recharged them and went out again. During the second session, I got better with hovering, but still have difficulties with orientation and getting it to go in the direction I want it to go in, but I'm going to work on that today.All-in-all, if you are new to quadcopters, I think this one is a terrific starting point. It is a tough little unit and has a great camera, which means it is a lot of fun beyond just learning to fly. I keep replaying the videos even though they just show our yard (and occasionally me).I would definitely recommend getting at least two more batteries so that you have four to trade out, which gives you a decent amount of time when you go out. It also has a recharger module so you can recharge batteries "in the field" which can also extend your time, particularly if you have to go somewhere to find an empty field. (We have a lot of empty fields, but some of them had corn in them this summer and they are therefore covered with 2' tall dead corn stalks and I don't want the 'copter landing amongst them--although it did once already with no damage.)Hope this helps!

Great learner quad with terrific camera, great value for the money
I have owned this quad 3 weeks and have been very happy with the purchase from Amazon and USAToyz. USAToyz has emailed me some other literature on how to fly a quad and I feel like Toyz would help me if I had any problems. They really support this product and the packaging is really the best. It comes with extra parts, batteries and some other nice equipment. I have not needed the extra parts as of yet even though I have had many hard crashes. The U818A HD+ is really a tough quad and once I learned to get it stable in the air I got some great pictures and movies of the neighborhood but did not attach any because neighbors probably donβt want their house on the internet. I have hung the quad in trees and rooftops and found it is easy to get the quad too high and loose the control, but just turn back the power and the signal will pick up again about 75-100 feet off the ground. I recommend flying the quad in a large field. Johny Tech and Bo S. have a very accurate and informative review, much better than this, so read theirs and look at the Youtube part. I bought extra batteries which you will need and a plug in AC charger. I recommend buying the Toyz batteries because they are still in great shape but the generic batteries I bought have swollen and a little tight to get in the quad. Also, I found no difference in the generic 600amp batteries in the flight time. Even a light breeze is hard on this quad but I have been able to fly it close to the ground 20 feet or less in a light breeze. The manual is too small to read so I enlarged a copy and will attempt to attach it. I was not able to attach a pdf file to this review but scan and enlarge manual will do the trick. Note, that the diagram on page 6 is not accurate on the blade rotation so read the text under the diagram which is correct. Also, if you change out the blades be sure to note the pitch since it is different on one white and one black blade. Use a piece of clear tape to help hold the small screw to the screw driver when changing blades. I am glad I purchased this quad to learn with. It is really a fun item to fly.
