Safety 1st ProGrade Finger Pinch Preventer

Great to use on the bedroom and bathroom doors so our toddlers don't close themselves in a room or specifically pinch their fingers. We use them on the door knob side rather than the hinge side of the door. They are grippy enough that they don't slide off or fall off, and can quickly be moved from the edge of the door to the door knob when we actually want to close a door. We also put them about eye level (up high) so the kids can't reach them. There doesn't appear appear to be any risk if they were to chew on them (grabbed from a doorknob on a closed door). Good stuff. And the clear color doesn't stand out or fade over time. Our original ones are over 5 years old and we can't tell the difference from the new ones we bought. They don't wear out. We only had to buy more because we bought a bigger house.

I placed these on the hinge side of the doors so my twins wouldn't pinch their fingers. My 17 month old son determined to shut the doors, ripped the screws off the hinges. Now my doors are out of alignment and won't close. These will be going back!!!

These work as advertised, and are very convenient since they slip over the doorknob when not in use. My only complaint is that they can cause damage to your doors, especially when you regularly forget it is there or your toddler tries to force the door shut despite the guard being there. I don't really think there is anything the company can do to fix that, but there it is.

One of our best toddler safety gadgets! We have purchased several other brands/types of finger catchers, but these are durable and holds it's shape the best. It can be places at either end of the door, where the hinges are, or where the doorknob is, and can be hung on the doorknob when not in use. The thing we like most is that it holds it's shape well. Other finger catchers, after a few uses, we find that we are unable to hang it on the doorknob anymore as the material has stretched, and when we try to hang it on the doorknob, they would just fall over - not this one! We have 2 3-year olds who loves to close the door on each other to keep the other out of the room, so these have been a life-saver. We've become so dependent on this little gadget, we always take it with us on vacations too, just in case someone accidently slams the door & looses a finger.

Works great with our old heavy wood doors! Also use sonthe wind doesn't slam the doors when we have windows open and babies sleeping. Have found that placing on top of the door works best so our antique hinges don't come loose from kids trying to close the doors. Also great so our cat doesn't get stuck in a room because one of the kids shut it by mistake. Way better than the foam kinds out there

Aside from already saving kids from cringe worthy finger smashing. No damage to the door, or the frame. Instead of the recommended place of the door (near the handle) to insert these, I found it more effective to place them on the opposite side with the hinges. That way there's no risk of any finger smashing.
