Maille Hollandaise Sauce 185g

I purchased this not knowing what to expect. This stuff is actually quite good. Is it "lemony" yes but hollandaise is supposed to have lemon. Does it taste like mayonnaise? Nope. It has a tiny bit of sweetness to it but I liked it. I made eggs Benedict and swirled a bit of balsamic reduction on top! Oh my!! delicious!! Will purchase again!

I read the reviews that said this was more like mayo than anything and I should've listened. It looked like mayo, felt and giggled and spread like mayo, did not heat like a butter based product and tasted like gross old cupboardy mayo. No hint of lemon or any other flavor other than poorly stored old dusty mayo. :( It's not even doctorable...

Very good, if a little bland.

I picked this up to bring on a camping road trip where I wanted to have make eggs benedict for some of the breakfasts, but didn't want to futz about making the hollandaise sauce from scratch. Since it doesn't need refrigeration before opening I could keep it with my unrefrigerated food supplies initially, and only move it into the cooler after my first use, so high marks for convenience. (If you've ever done a camping trip lasting more than a few days, you know how important it is to conserve your cooler space.) Flavor was quite acceptable, so I was very pleased with how this worked out.

This was way too sweet, which I wasn't expecting. There was a decent amount of lemon flavor. I won't be getting this again.

I can’t make a hollandaise sauce and this will die but wish it was cheaper. Also the taste is a bit off (might be a little too rich). There is better hollandaise sauces but it will do if you are craving eggs Benedict and are lazy or a bad chef.

Just the right lemoniess (if that’s a word). Creamy and zesty. Piled on a poached egg, Canadian bacon and a Whole Foods English muffin—perfection! Easy enough for a weekday

What I love about this jarred Hollandaise sauce is that it is always there right when I need it. The flavour is keen and the texture nice - it doesn't flow all that well but I might try diluting it a bit with warm fluid. As it stands I smear it gently on top of the poached eggs and the heat melts it nicely. Tastes lovely.
