Stays out
It is nice that Amazon has medical grade Mepilex. Healed my pressure wound. It's thick and stays in place.

Read this before purchase.
This bandage has been excellent in terms of value and use, once you know what you're dealing with.Things to note before purchase:1. When Amazon tells you that this is packaged in a box that tells you what it is and asks if you'd like it to be in an Amazon box instead, choose the Amazon box. Having it shipped without that option means that the unsecured box of bandages gets a sticker slapped on it and put in the mail as is. No tape keeping the box closed and no protection from destruction or other damage of your sterile bandages.2. This is a cuttable and adhesive silver alginate dressing. However, the film covering the adhesive side does not have any edge to grasp it by, and it is quite firmly attached. I discovered that it is much easier to release the film from the dressing if you lightly rub the film with a rubbing alcohol-moistened cotton ball. This allows that film to come up a bit and be peeled off to expose the adhesive without ruining the dressing. Also, if you wish to remove the dressing before it's used up, you can moisten the edge of the dressing where it is attached to the skin with water or rubbing alcohol and gently remove it without tugging on your healing skin. All in all, it has done what I've needed but I wish that the use instructions for it had been better to keep me from having to struggle to find a way to use this as advertised before discovering the rubbing alcohol trick.

It works!!
This stuff has been a God-send for my poor, horribly painful finger! My cat got her claw down in between the fingernail and the flesh on the side of it. As a result, the flesh under the skin swelled up until it poked through the skin and protruded up between nail and side of finger. I had never experienced an injury like this before; for such a small area it throbbed and hurt all over my body. Not Antibiotic ointment or anything else I tried worked. After researching the problem, I found out it is called granulation tissue and can also be the result of burns. Soaking the finger four times a day in a cup of warm water and a teaspoon of salt, then applying this anti microbial foam directly on the wound and covering it with a nonstick bandage - or gauze with tape over it - has resulted in healing. I must say that at first it was painful because the nitrate (or whatever it is in the foam that pulls out the moisture and infection from the injured flesh) stings! But grin and bear it because that means it is doing its job! The stinging, which will stop after a while, I’d much preferred to the ongoing pain of the wound!!This product arrived exactly as promised

Has NO Adhesive Whatsoever
If you're looking for something like this that has adhesive on the back I would keep looking. The instructions even clearly say that a secondary dressing is required to hold this dressing on. That's unfortunate too because these foam wound dressings are quite nice. I can't really use a secondary dressing over something like this because in the past I have fallen asleep with such a dressing and no matter what I've tried using to hold something like this over my wound, always winds up damaging my wound even further. What has always worked the best is a foam dressing called, "Mepilex," that can be stuck straight onto the wound thanks to it's, "Safetac," technology. Yes, believe it or not such a thing exists, and even though it can be stuck straight onto the wound it comes off incredibly easy without damaging the wound. At least, that's been the case for me. I was excited to see this wound dressing though because the Mepilex wound dressings can cost up to and over $60 for just 5 of them. Anyway, getting these wasn't a total loss. It has led to me finding something else that should be just like the Mepilex at less than half of the cost. For anyone else who might be interested to know that, the other wound dressing like this that I've found is called, "MedVance TM Silicone - Silicone Adhesive Foam Absorbent Dressing." And it costs $24.99 for a box of 5 of them just like these.

They're fine
And do what they're supposed to do. Please note that they are NOT adhesive! I know that should seem obvious, but other reviewers have said that they *are* which is why I bought them instead of the million dollar mepilex ones. Buy the million dollar mepilex ones if you need adhesive; buy these if you have a support system in place

Not absorbent
It's a thin foam and not absorbent. I was looking for Nuvafoam and this was suggested as a similar match. It does look like it but too thin to provide cushion and it caused moisture in the wound. I tried to contact the seller about the issue but the website isn't working on my end.
