Works!!
I had this ring custom made and some how bent it! I was kind of distraught until I saw a video of how bent rings were fixed. I bought this and in minutes it was back to 95%. It isn’t 100% but maybe only I can see where it occurs because I designed the ring myself. I did not like the fact it has no engravings to tell you what size the ring is and is being reformed to or stretched to. Now the ring is a little bit larger (size 7.25) than it originally was (ring was made in size 7). That should definitely be added to future versions. I would have preferred a version that allowed smaller more controllable increments but the shipping speed and lower price were the main reasons I chose this one. For reference my ring is 18k white gold w pave diamonds on the band.

Worked as expected, with couple of gotchas
When I opened the package it had oil leaking from plastic smelling like wd40. Not a biggie, i wiped it clean with tissue.Rod was already tight in the mandrill. Ok, find another solution, i used another thin rod to push it out for use.I was also expecting instructions, but i think video on Amazon is good for the instruction, however, I think the video should say what to expect when you open the package and how to get started from the package.Btw, the product worked as expected. I used it on my gold ring with a gem stone. Although it says, do not use with gem stone, i actually heated up the opposite side of the gem after putting the ring on the mandrill and just hit couple of light taps, and my ring was expanded perfectly. So it did the job really well. Thank you. So the 4 stars.Lastly, once the ring was expanded, removing the rod from mandrill again and removing the ring from it took a bit of effort.I think the video should mention it or include instructions in the package.Overall very happy with the product. It worked as expected with minor tweaks.

Size Your Band Exactly Before Ordering
My wife has developed arthritis and she could no longer fit her white gold wedding band on her ring finger comfortably, due to her finger having swollen. The band was a size 7. The description of the stretcher stated that it was for size 6 and up. Carefully and gently compressing the uppermost splines on the stretcher with a pair of pliers, I was BARELY able to get her ring over the leading edge of the top segment. Prior to this, I placed the band on a steel rod and briefly heated it over the tip of a candle flame. Then it was “tap tap tap” (not “BANG BANG BANG”), on the end of the solid expansion rod inserted into the stretcher portion, with a regular 16 oz. claw hammer. I held the device against a solid wood bench as a base as opposed to the plastic piece, as I did this. I then removed the ring and checked progress. NOTE: you will need a mandrel or similar punch to knock out the rod in reverse. Repeated the process two more times, and SUCCESS! My wife was then able to comfortably slide the ring on. I estimate it was stretched approximately 1/2 size larger. The only reason I knocked off 1 star, is because there is no way a band smaller than size 7 will even fit on this device. Other than that, it worked perfectly. There are other Rathburn stretchers on Amazon that accept bands size 1 and up; go with that if appropriate. Also, only purchase one that has at least 6 vertical splines on the stretcher (this one has 8); this allows for more even outward pressure when working, and less potential damage to the inner circumference of the band. These are my recommendations.

Worked as Advertised
Would have liked instructions but the video is pretty clear. Stretched platinum wedding band about 1mm which isn't a lot but it was all that was needed.A little at a time was key and the right weight hammer made the difference.

Great for small stretches
I got this to save some money, since the rings I needed sizing were only slightly too small (less than half a size). This worked great. You will need a hammer or wrench to expand the ring as well as a longer bolt or metal rod for the other end to remove the ring.Suggestions:• Only use this on plain bands… not for infinity rings. Be careful on cluster rings because the change in the size of the band can bend prongs and loosen stones.• Do not use if you are not 100% sure the metal is stretchable (as in REAL gold or silver)• Go slow. Stretch a little then try it on. Stretch a little more. Baby steps.• This does not come with a hammer or removal rod. I plan on getting a larger bolt to keep with it.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

poor manufacturing
quality is below imagination. Rough metal machining, not happy. Enlarging process increments is uncontrollable. Not recomended.
