They are amazing
Unlike Lee dies you can lock these down out of the box with the lock rings. Very well machined.

Just what I ordered
Works great on my new 9MM pistol brass.

Smooth well made nicely machined dies.
Great well made dies. The nitride sizing die seems to function more smoothly than the carbide used by Lee. I was able to smoothly re-size/de-bulge "Glocked-up" 10MM brass from my Glock G20. I ran the brass through the sizing die and checked in the SAAMI head space gauge, it was a perfect fit. Note...I do not know if this would work on Glocked-up brass from a Glock 9MM or other calibers shot in Glock. Lee dies are very good dies with a great price point, but I am going to switch to Hornady dies for any future needs. Due to the smoothness of the Hornady dies I am considering replacing all of my Lee dies that I use in my Hornady progressive press with Hornady dies.

Works Great!
The nitride coating (should be standard!) on the sizing die makes it easier to size cases without them getting stuck or bind making the reloading experience better with less waste. When calibrated properly and according to instructions, works splendidly and consistently! Hornady makes excellent products and their customer service (STILL A LIVE VOICE!) is OUTSTANDING!

Overall this is a great set. Resizing/decapping and expanding dies work like a charm. Bullet seat and crimp die takes a little finesse to get just right where you want it. Slight learning curve if you have never used a dual one before, but the instructions are pretty straight forward and easy to follow. Be sure to take apart and clean off all that anti-rust residue before using. The Hornady one-shot spray worked good cleaning the dies.I subtracted one star for a couple of inconveniences, or rather annoyances. First, I was noticing that the round nose seating stem would leave a circular imprint on my Berry's plated round nose bullets. Second, I was finding that the taper crimp collar would stick on the down stroke and would require a forceful throw of the lever to release the round. I took everything apart once again and double cleaned the dies just to make sure none of the anti-rust stuff was still on the die surfaces and tried again but still the same two issues.I did some research online and folks were saying the stem and collar need to be polished smooth. Sure enough, upon closer inspection the round nose seating stem did in fact have a slight distinct ridge before tapering off at the edge. The taper crimp collar also seemed to have a rough milled surface. I could run a fine pick across the surface and feel the bumps along the way. It was obvious from the brass shavings too that it was getting caught on one of these mill cuts. So I bust out the fine grit sand paper and fine steel wool. Sanded down the edge of the seating stem so it was a nice round curvature. Did the same with the inside of the crimp collar until it was smooth. Then cleaned it one last time with one-shot spray. Put it all back and tested seating and crimping a bullet in empty case. Guess what? No more ring on the bullet and no more hiccups on the crimp collar. Lever strokes were nice and smooth now!On a side note, I also have this same die set for the 45 ACP but I have not been able to have as much success with the 45 ACP taper crimp collar as I did for the 9mm version. It still has just the slightest hiccup on the down stroke, but no way near as much as it did unmodified.

Serious about reloadng, buy serious tools like this one
If you are serious about custom reloading, buy the best and stick with them. These work really, really well. But I do suggest getting a set for each different brass you reload. I reload 45 ACP but also 45 Colt and I have a set of these for each one. This avoids having to reset the dies from one round to the next. For me, worth the extra cost to be able to have one for each round all ready to go and no fiddling to reset the die.

Another great set of dies
Waited a long time for this to come back in stock, super happy with it, only made a couple hundred rounds so far but works like all hornady products.
