Very happy
I've had this carseat for 3 months now. I replaced a Safety 1st Alpha Omega elite car seat with this one, and I'm so glad I did.Pros:Strap adjustment: So easy. Simply slide the strap loop end off the hook, pull through the back of the seat, stick it through the shoulder heighth you want, and then slide it back on the hook thing. No complicated re-threading, and yet it's still a very secure connection. Also very easy to tighten and loosen. In fact, everytime I put my child in the carseat, I loosen the shoulder straps, buckle him in, and then tighten the straps around his shoulders. It only takes a second, and I'm sure of a secure fit every single time.Comfort: This seat sits high. If your car has low ceilings, maybe that would be a nuisance getting him in, but I'm putting my kiddo in the back of an extended cab 4door pickup which is very roomy. The seat sitting so high off the bench makes it very easy for my son to see out the window. He likes that. The padding is comfortable and the seat is wide. My toddler is average height & weight (50th percentile). The seat also is angled back a little more than the Safety 1st one we had. So if my son falls asleep, he is a little more comfortable.Safety: This carseat feels sturdy. The wings on either side of my toddlers head give me piece of mind about side impact. The child sits more deeply in this seat than our old one, so I feel like he's better protected.Practicalilty: This seat is easy to wipe down with a damp cloth. The fabric doesn't hold crumbs.Cons:Size: This seat is huge. It DOES fit in my Nissan Sentra, but it's huge. I have 2 of these in the back of my nissan and you cannot use the 3rd seatbelt. You also cannot put them right next to each other in the Nissan, however you CAN put them next to each other in roomy cab of the pickup and I've put them next to each other in the back of a Suburban and they fit. Also, if you want to use it rear-facing in a small car, you'll have to either use the center seatbelt or move the front seat really far foward to fit it on a side seatbelt.Summary: If you have a larger vehicle, you can't go wrong with this seat. Comfortable, easy to adjust, safe, and nice looking. If you have a tiny car, you won't want to try to fit 2 of these in there. And rear facing is limited where it will fit in a small car.

first time mom happy with this decision
**review edit: 1-31-16We have now had this car seat for over 6 months and have had the chance for plenty of use in it. Our baby seems most comfortable . We have had to remove the seat several times between are multiple cars and installation between each car happens without any problems of course after the proper adjustments made to seating and such. Also adjusting the straps and lap belts easy.Original post:I'm a first time mom - baby is almost one & I'm 8 and half months pregnant with number 2 - so the last few weeks I've been researching all the best top rated brands of car seats and finally chose graco's my ride 65 LX. The seat arrived promptly and installation was a breeze (this is what I was dreading the most.). We have a 2007 Honda CRV and it took the husband and I like 20 minutes to install. We installed it forward facing. Our Honda's seat needed to be reclined just the slightest along with the head rest needed to be notched up.I would just advise before installing in car be sure to adjust straps to babies size. We forgot and had to remove and do it again (even then we said wow, this is so easy to get set up & installed) and the adjusting to straps was easy. there are clear Instructions to follow printed on the car seat itself and of course In manual. We used the latch and also looped seat belt thru. Extra protection we figured. The delivery was amazingly fast we only got it a few days ago and baby has only been in it twice, but I have to say he seems really comfy not squished and even fell asleep in it and his head was fine didn't slump forward like some other reviews advised.I apologize for the long run review but like I said, I've been researching a lot and was left with a lot of questions that put crazy skeptic thoughts in my head. (Mom brain.... ugh!) I'm really glad I bought this graco and if anything changes I'll update since baby had only had 2 short trips in it.

Love this Large Seat
I am very pleased with this car seat. A few things to note: Firstly, I drive a Kia Sportage and my husband drives a VW Jetta. This car seat IS LARGE but it fits in the back middle seat of both of our cars rear facing. No, we cannot recline our front seats very far. But, to be frank, we were looking for a car seat I FELT good about in case of a car accident and that was also comfortable for long car rides from northern California to Arizona. This car seat makes me feel better about the lengths I have taken to protect my child in case of a car accident and I didn't spend $400.00 on it.Instillation: It was difficult but my husband and I were doing it together and we both have a pretty good sense of humor so there was a lot of laughter over our misfortune. It took us a little over an hour to install this car seat because it never seemed to get tight enough. Eventually we figured out that, if you remove the cover on the car seat and then tighten the latch belt through the hole it is strung though, that car seat eventually sits so tightly in your car that it is like it is built in. Also, whenever you have to move the restraint system higher because your kid got taller, you have to get to the bottom of the car seat, which you can only do by uninstalling the seat. Even so, this is something we only have had to do every couple of months with our previous car seat and our son is a weed - he's in size 18 month clothes at 8 months old. If using the latch system, ADJUST THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE CAR SEAT. Otherwise you will have to uninstall, then reinstall.I personally love this seat, even with the challenge in instillation and I am going to be purchasing at least one more of this seat for my husband's car.
