Poor performance, does not clean hardwood or tile floors well
My husband chose this central vacuum for our new home. It doesn't work well. I have hardwood floors and tile. I get better pickup using my manual dust mop. I've tried over and over adjusting the unit, changed out the bags, filters, tried different attachments, etc. No improvement. I have had 2 other homes with central vacs (not this brand). This one does not get the job done anywhere near the other two. I'm disappointed as we read many online views in making this choice only to have it clean so poorly. Their help desk is not very good to answer questions nor is their documentation/instruction manual. Note: it does clean carpet and rugs very nicely.

Powerful Central Vac
I was skeptical about the brand, as it doesn't have a lot of feedback around the internet. I do like thinkvacuums.com though, and I ordered all my products from there, including all the pvc/etc needed for this DIY project. In the end, I'm very happy with this vacuum. I wanted the most powerful unit that I could find, and this one has some of the best specs on the market. It truly is very powerful, considerably better than the cheap unit we had in our previous home. I cannot comment yet on the longevity, but parts are accessible, and it seems to be built well. I am a happy customer, and would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a top performer.

Raw unadulterated power. Its earned the name Twin Turbo!
I was originally skeptical as it has limited review. However, given further research as to the build quality of where it counts, the motor, it seems like reasonable compromise to power, build, price, and performance. Yeah, its not the cheapest, but man, is it ever strong. I was renovating the opposite side of the wall where it was to be mounted, and opted to put in some sound insulation. That helps. This thing with both motor running is a beast. I know my original piping when I bought this house is full of leak, and the other vacuum struggled to deal with that. Instead of paying a lot money for someone to repair that, I opted to just put in more power. And more power solved everything. Even when I turn it off, there is so much negative pressure in the system now, that it takes a bit of time for the generated pressure to equal out. Like too much negative pressure momentum. This thing is a monster. The translucent and nearly indestructible canister is awesome as well.Buy this if you like the word Twin Turbo, because that is what it is, no questions about it now. German built all metal motor and housing. But be specific about this model. They have other model that are a little more price competitive, they are good too, but if build and motor quality is important, stick to the Twin Turbo with a "milky translucent" container. If you also plan to do in-wall retractable hose (hide-a-hose) or the likes, this would be perfect to counter the extra runs and lengths or even dare I say it, less than perfectly leak proof plumbing, this is the ticket. I spent a lot of time researching, calling company, reviewing engineering documents on the motors used, the theory vs. practical use, and so forth. Pound for pound, I wouldn't hesitate making the same decision again.By the way, my wife says, if we're moving, this is the only thing that must come with us. Only down side, if its even a down side, you need to have 240v power. I'm ok with that, it makes sense, more powerful vacuum, needs more power. Performance efficiency can only take you so far, the rest of it is just raw power. This is raw power, with little to no puffery.
