"Craftsman" comes through
Perhaps not the most precise engineering in the world, but it worked.Had a 40 year old nut that was rusted and frozen in place. As this was a toilet repair, the I had to be careful about the amount of persuasion I could use.Surprisingly, neither of the 2 auto parts stores carried one, and the big orange box store looked at me like I had 2 heads when I described what I needed.Amazon prime had it at my door by 2PM the next day.Applying torque slowly with a crescent wrench split the nut on one side, then the other.Well worth the investment.Clearly, the manufacturing is not the quality I would have expected from "Craftsman", but it is sufficient to to the job.

Fantastic product.
This is a great product for the price, it comes completely apart, so it can be used in many different ways/oiled if need be, my only concern is the internals should slide along a rail to keep the chisel bit vertical in the hole and sometimes the bit Will spin, but otherwise well worth the price.

Shattered after the second nut
I bought this to remove the nuts holding on my sway bar link. I wasn't able to get q good angle on the first nut as there was no set screw and the wedge spun freely. On the second nut, a quarter of the wedge shattered of. (I was using a ratchet, so definitely wasn't over torqueing it.) I switched to use the other side of the wedge and was able to get the nut off. (The second side started to fracture, but didn't come off.)Great for a one (or two) time use. Trash for keeping on hand.

Decent . Not too bad
I performed two splits on the same nut. And after that it just keep spinning , It got the job done but it’s pretty much like a disposable tool . Definitely sturdy and durable just annoying to keep lining up the chisel part. Also the chisel part haven’t broke or bent compared to other reviews .

Works great if used properly
Worked great! Had some rusted older bolts that I couldn’t remove this took them right off with a little torque

Nice splitter
Nice splitter. I see reviews that complain, especially on nuts without clearance issues, say a tie rod. If you have good access to nut use angle grinder first to do bulk of work then splitter so you don't run risk of damaging threads. Sometimes I just use cutting wheel on angle grinder and just cut down to just before threads and pop nut with chisel.

Not for flange nuts
The splitting wedge easily turns and wobbles, probably to self locate on rounded-off nuts, but this means it just slides off of flanged nuts. It seems very durable; I’m surprised others have complained about it breaking. It does pose a serious risk to the underlying bolt; you can expect to have to replace that. I found that a hammer and chisel, while more noisy, was more effective in a fraction of the time and you may already own these pieces.

A good tool for rusted nuts
This tool served its purpose of removing a rusted nut on an old Ford. I am putting tube gas filled rear shocks on my 1935 Ford. Removing the original lever type shock I needed this as the rusted nut was causing the half round head of the bolt on the back side of the shock to spin. I used ample WD-40 on the nut overnight. I held the body of the tool with a Crescent wrench to counter the torque of using a breaker bar with 3/4” socket. There is a satisfying “give” when the cutting blade separates the nut. I did two sides 180 degrees apart on the nut, and it fell off in two clean pieces. I probably won’t use it frequently, but it is worth it!
