Elvis Presley- Winds of Change

A nice item for any Elvis collector.

While this isn't a GREAT Elvis piece, it is better than many, and I think regular readers of Elvis material would be happy they bought it.

THE BEST PART OF THE DVD IS THE COVER PICTURE OF ELVIS..THE REST IS JUST THE SAME OLD THING. YOU REALLY DON'T GE TO SEE ELVIS MUCH, IT'S ONLY A DOCUMENTARY FEATURING SOME CLASSMATES OF HIS , AND A FEW DJS.. ABOUT THE RISE OF HIS CAREER NOTHING NEW..SORRY I BOUGHT IT

If you are new to Elvis then this will give you a good background in how we got started and where he came from. It's not an official release but still has some schoolday photos in it that I'd not seen before.It's half voiceover (with b/w pictures and footage) and half interviews with people that he went to school with (and a couple with authors and social historians). It explains the background to segregated Memphis in the great depression of the 30s and shows you the important buildings - his first home, Lauderdale Courts, Humes High School.There are some songs (playing over the footage) but not a huge number. I'm rating it 4* because I think it's unlikely that I'd watch it again. But it was worth it just for the early pictures.

Great documentary focusing on Elvis formative years but if you have The Memphis Flash then you already have this as it's the same program in new packaging

If you are a new fan this is a great DVD. However, for the die hard fan this is just a rehash of other DVD info put into this disk.Still enjoyable, just nothing new. Were however a few previously un-released photos so I will definitely keep.Enjoyable, just not enough new info.
