Gerber Gear Gerber Short Stack Multi-Tool [30-001113]

Got this when it was on sale, and at THAT price, it was worth it. At around $40....might still be. Well thought out little tool that will fit in some manufacturers' hand grips. I haven't used all of the tools yet, but I really like having this tiny package with so much versatility that fits in a really small space. clips together with (rare earth?) magnets, and locks up pretty solid in its various configuration. Worth the cash, especially on sale.

First off, I would like to thank amazon for their superb customer service! I ordered this and lost the piece that holds the screwdrivers. I contacted amazon and at first they didn't reply. Soon after they had the replacement part sent free of charge! As far as the product itself goes, I haven't had a good chance to put it to the test yet. However, I'm a small arms artillery repairer in the military and would say it's a useful and sturdy tool to have. Especially for an armour or even an operator. There is some play between the parts when the wrench is put together but I would imagine it will do the job. If it doesn't simply let amazon know and their excellent customer service will definitely take care of the problem! 5 stars for customer service alone!

Great gift for AR owners! Conveniently fits in the cavity on most AR grips (though you may need a rubber plug, also available through Amazon, to retain it in place). Well made and held together in stowed condition using magnets, so it doubles as a puzzle for morons :). This one tool has all the AR specialty tools, eliminating the need to tote a range box full of individual tools. I've now purchased one for each rifle so that they are each self-contained.

Great company and great materials... this product is great as an emergency backup tool, just don't rely on it for primary tool. Very difficult to use and dangerous due to size and torque of equipment you would use it on.

What a great firearm specific multitool. The Gerber seems complicated at first, but on inspection is a cleverly designed set of useful tools for the AR. While I haven't used mine often, it has held up to occasional range use well so far, does what it's supposed to, and fits in my Magpul grip well. I feel that it's a good item to have with you "just in case", and fitting in the grip makes that easy.

This is a very handy tool to have in the field. It will handle most issues that come up to keep your rifle working. It's extremely well made and will fit inside the grip of most AR-15s. I had to slightly modify the stock grip on my Mossberg MMR to accommodate but it was easy. I'm glad I purchased this tool.

I really like this thing. It comes assembled at about 1 1/4 inch and 3 inches long. Its a little bit of a pain to take it apart but there is a trick to it. It has a little bit of everything you need on it. The bolt carrier scraper was fantastic. I hit one of my guns up with the normal pick and cotton swab, then followed up with this guy and realized I have been doing this bolt carrier thing all wrong. The buffer wrench did what it needed to with little effort. I work in the armory for the US navy and I would say I have run it across 20 guns so far and I will say that this thing is handy. I wouldnt use this if you are going to use this on many guns at once like I do. I could see it wearing down after some constant abuse. If you have one gun you are going to clean at a time then this thing will last forever. When it got here the surface was dry. So I guess thats what people were talking about the finish. I wiped it down with some CLP, let it sit for a little while and think about what it had done, and it looks good as new. One of my guys bought the Real Avid AR15 Micro Tool. He is mad that he didnt spend the extra 10 bucks. If you just want a good hardy tool for the bolt carrier go with Kley-Zion CRT Carbon Removal Tool. Then a solid buffer assembly wrench. This thing has them both, cheaper than each and its worth the purchase.
