If you love mystery and romance mingled together you have to read A Maze & Grace
other in book 1. (See what I did there? Ahh!) Bobby’s been away serving his time with the National Guard in Iraq and when the book opens he’s arriving home.Do their relatives, loved ones and other acquaintances leave them to readjust to life together? Of course not! They are thrown back into life together with all the fun and mess it can bring. When that includes an impromptu visit from her ex-boyfriend and his new wife she might wish they had.Mackley expertly weaves Bobby and Trinity’s love story right into the mystery that ends up being dropped on their doorstep by way of the corn maze Trinity helps run with her cousin and his wife. She keeps you on the edge of your seat, and guessing who the guilty party is until the last possible moment ending it with a twist I never saw coming. If you love mystery and romance mingled together you have to read A Maze & Grace by Cyn Mackley. I am looking forward to book 3 in the series.

A Maze & Grace
When Deputy Sheriff Bobby Goode returns from deployment in Iraq, he is enthusiastically greeted by his goth girlfriend, Trinity Grace. Their reunion is captured by the press on what must have been a slow news day because the picture even made it into People magazine. One consequence of the notoriety is that Trinity's old boyfriend, Marco, and his wife, Sophia, show up on their doorstep.Marco is a very narcissistic person who has no idea how hurtful his words can be. He has a fight with his wife who decides to leave in the middle of the night. Sophia's body is later found in the corn maze.I liked this book although not quite as much as the first one. One reason is that there were more errors in this book including one continuity error where a car is called a Ford Focus on one page and then a page later it's referred to as a Ford Fiesta.

A very Goode read
I started with second book because it was free on Amazon. Will go back to read the first and others. Each stands alone although it's the same main characters. The author does a great job with the characters' feelings - all the horror Bobby has seen as a deputy and from being a guard that has seen overseas duty - and how he is learning to cope. Trinity's choice of clothing and old rumors about her cause some of the neighbors to misjudge her.The solving of the murder is well done. I thought I had it figured out about half way through, but there were enough distractions thrown that caused me to rethink along the way. I did have the right person for the right reason in the end, but it wasn't a give away from the beginning like many "mysteries".I liked that she was a person of faith, but this wasn't a Christian book. There was some sex and some mild language, enough to make the characters realistic. These were people you might meet in real life - no super hero alphas or eccentric old grannies. Just a couple trying to find their way in middle America.

A very wholesome murder mystery.
I purchased this book immediately after finishing the first (then bought 3 and 4 after finishing this 🤣).I live the characters in these books, from trinity to Bobby, the quilting couple. And even though I had an inkling of who might have done it, I couldn't find a motive. It just shows that some random information might turn it to be significant.

I read the first two of three Goode-Grace
Books and loved them so much I even paid for the second one. Not something I would usually read but the characters were so lovable I couldn't resist once I got started. Going back now for the third one!

Book by Cyn Mackley
This was the second book by Cyn Mackley with the same characters. I like the storyline and the give and take chatter between the main characters. I even got used to the heavy use of dialogue to advance the story. I just bought a third story, which says I really like this author’s method of writing.

Different
It's different. Rambles a bit. But people do that in everyday life. The characters are not ones you'd think would be a match but they fit. Shows life can be strange. I did get tangled in the story and could not quit. I did like it. And the murderer was not someone on my radar so that was pretty good 👍.

Book 2, well done
In the second book of the series, Cynthia Mackley picks up with Bobby coming home. Small details throughout the book are interwoven to bring the plot to fruition. The characters are interesting and multidimensional. There is an interesting plot twist at the end.
