5 Stars for a Cheapie!
Make no mistake, this microphone is not going to compare to a U47 or a 414, but, for the price, it gets five stars! First, the packaging is quiet secure. You get the microphone inside a hard case, inside a retail box, inside the Amazon box with expected package insulation materials. Next, the overall construction of the microphone is very sturdy. For the price, I was expecting a cheap plastic "toy" like feel and that's not what you get. This thing has some girth behind it and it's not something you'd want to smack the drummer with because it might actually hurt! I ordered this as a distant room/ambiance microphone and it's really good for that. You get clear sound, almost no noise and a very wide response range. I've also used it for a guitar and it sounds good and vocals are very clear. Although, if you are using it for vocals, use a 57 as well so you get the bottom end! That's the only drawback is that down in the real low end, say less than 200Hz, it gets just a little muddy. It still gets five stars because it's so good in other areas. I'd recommend using a 57 along with in. Yes, I know you could put an EQ on it and a bit of expander, but why not ingest the sound as cleanly as possible and do that much less post production on it later. As I said, it's not a U47, but, if you're the kind of recording place that really needs to limit the cost to a sub $200 microphone, then get one of these and a SM57 and you'll be glad you did!

Solid build, great sounding mic. Side noise filters out well.
Very nice sounding mic, especially for the price range. If you want to hear a sample recording I did on this mic, go to SoundCloud /ace-and-gary/huffnoseblues or /nojimmynocry. These are just record ings of me noodling around on guitar with the mic going straight to my Line 6 UX2 interface. Mic was about 4 inches from my amp, which is a blues jr. I also recorded acoustic and it sounds great, tho you do need to be fairly close. This mic isn't what you'd use to capture a whole room. In fact I had it pointed at my amp, worth bass amp blaring right next to it, and on the recording you can't really even hear the bass line. It cancels side noise like crazy. Haven't done much with vocals cause i can't sing. But suffice it to say, this is a solid mic and well worth the price.

A great mic and incredible value
I love this mic. I have other much more expensive microphones that do not deliver the quality and clarity of sound that this mic does. I find it to be very clean for voiceover work, and it rejects room noise as well as any condenser I've ever tried. It's solidly built, and seems to be very well balanced across the lows, mids, and highs, not over-emphasized in any of them. I know some TV folks in my area who swear by these for voiceover work in the studio, and they love the balance. Highly recommended for those on a budget.

A good studio mic for not a lot of money
I bought the Samson CO1 for when I need a spare recording mic (as when I have a second woodwind instrumentalist playing at my setup). I didn't want to spend the money necessary for a second Rode NT1 mic that I expected to use only rarely. The Samson has a pretty flat response curve, which I wanted for recording woodwinds and to be compatible-if not a precise match-for my Rode. My concerns about the Samson are limited. First, it's advertised to be a large-diaphragm condenser mic, but at only 19 mm, the diaphragm is really only at the top of what I understand to be the usual range for medium diaphragm condenser mics (using that paradigm, the NT 1 is a true large-diaphragm at 25mm). Second, the Samson's noise level is OK (at about 20 db) but not in the same ballpark as my dead-quiet NT1 (<5db). Still, the Samson costs a lot less money than the NT1 (my primary mic for recording my double-reeds). Also, the Samson did a very respectable job in two recent JamKazam sessions when used (socially-distanced, of course) by a clarinet player from my orchestra. All-in-all, the Samson's a lot of mic for not a lot of money and I'm glad I bought it.

Professional quality
I've owned a variety of mics over the years and this is by far the best one for the price. As a former DJ and current twitch streamer I rely on it to provide the same professional quality sound typically found in recording studios and radio stations. The tone is precise before any pass-through, and when used with a windscreen or foam ball to limit breath and popping noises, it will become your go to microphone. Best bang for your buck by far.

Best Mic for Beginners
Very sturdy and solid build. My clumsy butt has already bumped and dropped it a few times and nothing has been shaken out of place or out of whack. Its a great microphone for beginners. The sound range makes it super easy to put a noise gate on it and block out background air noise while still capturing breaths on vocals. Capturing rich vocal sounds this mic does wonders. Only issue I have is finding mic stands suitable for this Mic. The spider stand is expensive when bought separate, I would reccomend buying as a bundle. Any other boom stands are proving difficult to find for this mic. The mic alone is great, 10/10 would reccomend.

Awesome little mic!
I'm so happy with this mic, considering the price and some of the other reviews that were really nit picky! It picks up a clear and I feel accurate sound. Love the carrying case to keep it clean and safe when not in use. The body feels solid and the mount is a sturdy metal.

DECENT CONDENSER MICROPHONE
This is my first studio condenser microphone for home studio recording. I really like the material used. Very durable and nice design. I didnt try it yet, as I am still waiting for my audio interface. I watched lots of reviews and videos on youtube about this microophone and decided to invest on SAMSON C01 condenser microphone.

Ampliamente recomendable.

Geilstes Mikrofon in diesem Preisbereich!
