10/10 score: Outstanding Survival Watch
Took a while to arrive, but worth the wait. A real self-winding watch that does not need to be wound separately. It is an authentic Russian Military watch and came in a box from the Russian Federation with a nice note. It is sturdy looking and has Russian writing all over. I started looking at mechanical watches as a safeguard for the coming zombie apocalypse. The first one was a see through watch that had to be wound. I bought a second watch that had a date box, and a weak self-wind function - it still had to be wound up daily and I could not see the time in the dark. Then I found this Russian watch - all the bells and Whistles I need. True self winding, Date feature, and Radium glow-in the dark hands. (Not extremely bright, but definitely visible in the dark for those times you have to hide from zombies in a cave and simply need to know the time.) . Finally, the armband is actually quite nice. Slick feeling metal with a sturdy clasp that will definitely prevent zombies from tearing this watch off your flesh.

so when they mention something in this price range as being a good watch I pay attention
I noticed a couple of articles on watch blogs that I frequent singing the praises of the Vostok Amphibia, and the lesser known Kommandirsky. These are blogs that regularly feature high end watches costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, so when they mention something in this price range as being a good watch I pay attention! I am really pleased with this watch – the pictures do not do it justice. The raised numerals and markers on the dial were the clincher for me. Most of these have a plain painted dial, so I think this one is one of the better looking ones. Most will want to change out the bracelet as it is kind of light weight and cheap feeling. The main drawback is the lack of a quick set date. I intend to keep mine on a winder when not in use so this is not so much of a problem for me. For the money this watch is really hard to beat! These come from the Russian Federation via parcel post, so be prepared to wait a bit longer for it to arrive.

This is like no other watch I own it should be fun ...
This is like no other watch I own it should be fun to add mods to it, but I have some doubts about it being water proof to 200 meters.

You Get What You Pay For - This is not even a swim watch let alone a dive watch.
Like the other comments, this took awhile to arrive; however, if it was shipped from Russia I could understand. The watch looked awesome but had a "cheap" feeling stainless steel band. I replaced it with a canvas strap because I intended to use this watch while I'm kayaking and swimming. If you've watched the history of Vostok on youtube you might have thought you were getting an automatic that would rival a Rolex. Absolutely NOT THE CASE. Before the first water test I ensured the crown was screwed down completely and the case back had never been touched. As soon as I submerged the watch underwater it leaked. Water droplets were collecting under the crystal and the watch ceased.I've attempted to contact the seller twice and have not received a response.

High Quality - Modest Price
Was gifted this watch and have come to really like it. It's a bit heavy, but with the right band (you might want to replace the one it comes with) it sits nicely on your wrist due to the modest case diameter. It appears to be built solidly. I put it on the other night for 4 - 5 hours, and it was still running when I picked it up the next night at 8pm! Beautiful dial, smooth ticking second hand and in general, it gives off the impression of high quality. Bonus if you're a watch hobbyist - there's a ton of relatively inexpensive aftermarket parts available to customize your Vostok watch!

Broke in Record Time
It lasted less than 4 months before an issue arose, and now the auto-wind function has stopped working, so it's effectively dead. It's not worth getting repaired, because it is only $80 to begin with. I did like the look of it, and it may be an anomaly, but fit and finish in the same price range is better for the Seiko 5. The seller was great, however.

Outstanding timepiece for the money
Used to wear a manual wind Vostok thirty years ago, so I grabbed this one out of sheer nostalgia. Good, solid, tool watch in or out of the water. That's what I like about the Amphibia, you don't have to be a diver to appreciate a rugged watch that keeps decent time and can handle the pool, the beach, or whatever else you get up to. Already have a Seiko SKX173 and an Orient Ray II, but this one has an interesting legacy and quirky charm all its own. Watch arrived promptly, well packaged and in perfect condition. Wasn't expecting the thank you card with a Russian hat pin attached, but that was a nice touch.

That was the best fun with this
Junk... Didn't last 2 days. During that time it couldn't keep time. Finally killed it by throwing it at a wall. That was the best fun with this item
