One of my favorite bypass modules
Comes programmed for Toyota and can be programmed for many vehicles. However programming requires subscription to the company's web site and a programmer. A local stereo shop may be able to help you with programming. I have been installing professionally for over 20 years and this is the bypass I go for when it is one of the options. Easy to wire up and program, most important it works every time.

Didn't work with original firmware. Please learn from my headache.
First off, this isn't the first time I have used this model, but it is the first time with the firmware 5.PKT1. This module ships with the 5.PKT1 firmware, which you are not told when buying it. To Amazon, I give 2 stars. At least got the model correct, and stated it was for a Toyota. Anyway. I install this in my 2010 Tundra, first with T-taps, then when that didn't work, I soldered the connections following directly the install manual, and still didn't work, and yes, I tried both primary keys. The LED would flash like it was receiving the key code, but would flash for 30 seconds and return to a solid light. I started to think I had a defective unit, but luckily I had a shop near me that was willing to help, and they re-flashed the original firmware with the same, and it still didn't work. So after several attempts, I had them change the firmware to PKT2, and all works perfect. Though it does require a completely different way of wiring it up. If you ask me, the transponder in Toyota's (Tundra at least) are to weak to work with the original firmware. So if you order this, beware, that you might have to play around with it as I did, and hopefully you have a local shop with a XKLoader to help you, or own one of your own. Honestly, you can get this module, and the XKLoader2 for less then just the module at "Worst Buy".

Excellent... but needs to be programmed.
This worked perfectly once it was programmed with my make and model car. I had to pay Best Buy $20 to do it and I felt ripped off because I knew exactly what to do with a little reading online, but you need a special tool to program it. The tool cost was more than $20, so I paid the geeks. After that my Viper autostart works great!

Works great!
Installed in a 2004 Toyota sienna. Direct wiring instead of wire wrap is defiantly the best solution. I have never had a problem with this module. Installation is a breeze and programming is a snap on Toyota vehicles (just turn on the car and its programmed). Works just as well using W2W or Data bus.

Bad unit. programs fine with the loader, but will not learn key. 2003 4Runner
Ended up taking car to installer . $180 later , this part was bad out of the box. Do not use this item for Code Alarm installs. Use flash logic instead.

Do not purchase
Let me just say spend a little more money and purchase the DBALL2 ( http://amzn.com/B00H2PHSY2)! Do not mess around with the XK05. It is almost 10 years old and I could not get it to work on my 2010 Tundra. I might have had a defective unit, but the DBALL2 is so much better.

Good buy!
Worked well and a good buy for the money. You just need an x-loader to program the module. The unit shipped quickly also.
