This has proven to be a complete game changer for getting an extra angle when filming concerts. I tend to use the EOS M for a rear angle and, with batteries, found it frustrating that sometimes I'd have to change battery mid set and get things rolling again.With this adapter and a 20,000mAh powerbank I've shot 5 hours of footage and only gone down 1/4 of the indicator dots on the bank. When used with magic lantern's auto restart function you can film for hours. My initial test left it running overnight for 7.5 hours and it was still going when I woke up. I can now suspend my camera from a beam in a venue, hit record before doors open and have the whole thing captured at the end of the night.I've not noticed any side affects of using this cable - I have the camera set to turn the screen off when filming so heat doesn't seem to be an issue (although I've only tried it during winter, to be fair, but indoors in warm venues).

Update: - No hum if using a decent portable battery (moved from 3star to 4star).It's okay... The output voltage measured at 8.09V which appears to be fine for running my Canon EOS M50 however regardless of whether I use the provided 3A USB power plug or my own 4A one there was a noticeable ground hum on the audio portion of videos. The hum is not out of control and very consistent so should be removable via editing tools but it would be nice not to have to do this. If audio is not important (time-lapses for instance) or you are happy to clean the audio in editing then this is fine.Update: - No hum if using a portable battery

Arrived way ahead of the estimate and worked exactly as described. The dummy battery fits perfectly and can be used with the Quick Charge power supply in the box but I've tried it using a Ravpower 20000mha QC3 compatible battery pack which is perfect for this. My main use is to power the Canon M50 to use it as a web cam, now that Canon has released software to allow for that, but this setup now gives the option to have emergency power available when out and about or for doing time-lapse sequences where I can now be in the middle of nowhere but run the camera continuously without having to change batteries. Great opportunities now await - when we're allowed out of course! (Written May 2020)

This works well out of the box. My Canon M50 sprung to life immediately and the camera functions well. Considering the poor battery life on them, this is an inexpensive solution to having to exchange batteries when completing long exposures, video or time lapse. I also find using EF lenses via a speedbooster or adapter drains battery life really fast and this is a neat solution, particularly as it worked with a power bank as well as the mains.If I have a complaint, its just that the connector between the battery adapter and cable is a little 'spongy'. It doesn't click into place so I might have to use a bit of tape to make sure it doesn't become unplugged - not ideal but effective. I'm not sure there is another solution to the battery issue at the moment so this works well in most circumstances.

There are so many of these on here I struggled initially to decide. Thankfully I pumped for this one and I can report that it works PERFECTLY with my Canon M50. If you're a little new to all this DSLR stuff you might panic like me about how I close the battery door with this plugged in. Well if you haven't already noticed, there is a little rubber cover on your battery door (who knew!) that you can peel back and it makes a perfect hole for the DC plug to go in.Worked instantly with no issue.

Great little addition for when you are out shooting videos or photos, you can simply use a external power bank to be sure you never run out of power, needs a bit tape to hold in place but that’s just making sure the power cable stays in its place no big issue really, worth having in my kit

Well packed - slightly flimsy and a bit expensive BUT it does the job ok. Make sure you plug into a good 5v supply.

En casa no se moverá pero en otras situaciones puede soltarse

Ich habe den Adapter vor allem gekauft, um längere Filmsessions mit der M50 zu machen, und der Standard-Akku dort einfach wahnsinnig schwach ist. Ein Adapter schien mir die beste Lösung, um nicht laufend Akkus wechseln zu müssen.Was habe ich erwartet? Zumindest ein einigermaßen funktionsfähiges Teil. Dem war auch prinzipiell so, aber die Passformen sind einfach eine absolute Katastrophe. Einerseits wackelt der Dummy in der Kamera so stark hin und her, dass es laufend zu Kontaktproblemen kommt und die Kamera abschaltet. Für die Produktion von Videos ein no-go, da man sich einfach nicht darauf verlassen kann. Auch die Stecker/Buchse-Kombination ist einfach unterirdisch. Man weiß gar nicht, wo überall Wackler vorhanden sind. Schade, denn für 23,- hätte ich mehr als so unglaublich schlechten Plastikmüll erwartet - und ich bin wirklich nachsichtig. Gruselig.Ich rate jedem, der eine einigermaßen verlässliche Stromversorgung für die M50 sucht, weiter zu suchen. Denn das Teil ist definitiv nicht die Lösung. Geht zurück und landet anschließend wohl leider auf dem Müll. Schade.

Der Akkudummy ist ok, passt in alle LP E12 Schächte der M Kameras.Dazu wird er auch wieder verwendet.Leider ist der Spannungswandler schon defekt. Am Ausgang nur noch Eingangsspannung zu messen.Weiterhin konnte er nicht mit USB-Verlängerungskabeln verwendet werden(ggf. Eingangsspannung zu niedrig)Dummy und Kabel(Ausgangseitig mit Hohlstecker) werden mit einem 8V2A-Netzteil und ausreichend langem Kabel weitergenutzt.23€ Lehrgeld, as usual made in China.

Ne fonctionne absolument pas avec un Canon EOS M50, il y a de toute façon beaucoup de jeu au niveau de l'adaptateur à insérer à la place de la batterie et au niveau du connecteur jack. Aucun intérêt, retour.
