I din't think it was gonna grow, but it started getting leaves now
For the price I would think it would have came with at least 1 leaf on it. Rcvd it 4/5 and it hasn't even produced a single leaf bud as of 4/22 ,our temperatures have been in the mid to high 70's. I'm also not new to gardening or growing plants. I'll be requesting a refund. Editing to add "She lives"!!!, Just started producing leaves overnight, so good seller.

Arrived early!
The Piñata climbing rose arrived in great shape! It was my first time ordering a rose online and I was pleasantly surprised. I gave it a good watering and put it in the shade for now but I’ll slowly introduce it to our 9a zone.

Very Disappointed - Inaccurate Description
Firstly, I did my research and watched a number of videos and descriptions of the Heirloom “Own Root” roses. Reviews were mostly positive.A video on the Heirloom site and YouTube showed the unboxing and planting of the rose plant. It had several nice size canes with a diameter of about 1/4 inch or more. The photos will show what was in my box. A spindly plant with canes maybe a little more than a 1/8 inch and one was broken and appeared to be an old break that was dry and brown at the break. Even if it did produce a bloom this season, it is doubtful the skinny canes could have supported the weightSecondly, I called the company to report a the damage and waited in que for over 30 minutes only to receive little empathy for my disappointment and told to call Amazon. Which I did and received excellent service and a quick return and refund. As an Amazon seller, that could been the que greeting, “If you purchased From Amazon, please contact them with questions about your shipment or to report damage. Stay on the line to speak with a representative.” 10 seconds! Finally, my opinion on “own root” vs grafted roses is that it is a marketing gimmick in a very competitive industry. I have bought many graft root roses that were true to name and color, strong healthy plants that grew quickly and boomed. And if you did get a shoot up from the root stock, you just cut it off. I succumbed to the “own root” pitched and it will not happen again. You do not get what you think you are paying for.I’m glad I purchase from Amazon and grateful for their great customer service!

Did not come back after 1 full season
Unfortunately the rose died and didn’t come back the second year.I am a master gardener with success in growing roses. I also put it in a spot where I expected success, heavily mulched during winter to keep it protected. I also had plants in that location previously that did well.Of course I don’t know exactly what went wrong but it’s disappointing to spend the money and it not last one full season.

Healthy roses
The rose arrived early and I planted it the next day. It has already sprouted several stems and looks very healthy after only one week.
