Brilliant biodegradable, natural sponges
I love these dish sponges. The regular dish sponges I was using kept smelling only after a week of use so decided to switch it up. I knew I wanted something eco friendly and discovered these. They are initially hard but as soon as they are submerged in water they soften up and are brilliant at cleaning the dishes. The first set of dishes were covered in tomato soup, my old sponges would stain red after doing this. But these sponges clean up the dishes and the sponges are clean after use too. They last such a long time, I bought them in May and 5 weeks later I am just throwing away my first one. It doesn't smell and I have washed it twice since, and has only just developed holes. Someone mentioned you can't use these to wipe tables. Yes you can. I have a 3 year old so am always wiping up spills, these are brilliant at this. Although they are more expensive than those plastic ones, these will last more than 6 months and are biodegradable so are definitely worth the price. Can't find a single flaw.

Great little dishwasher.
I have been looking for a natural Loofah type kitchen dishwashing sponge for ages and these fit the bill perfectly. Please be aware they are not going to scrub away burnt on food in pans or baking tins or dishes. I still use a metal wire scrubber for that. But general everyday washing up cups plates and cutlery they are brilliant. They don't scratch and are easy to rinse and clean afterwards. They should last but only time will tell I hope so, they look Ok to pop in the washing machine from time to time. The biggest benefit for me is they are not made of plastic so much better for the environment. 😊

As good as plastic sponge scourers but much better for the planet
First of all, these scourers are not at all absorbent. Where you can use a plastic sponge scourer to wipe up a quick spill, they won't do the same job. But they asre as good as the plastic sponges in every other way (except price of course - I can get 10 plastic sponge scourers for £1 in my area.) And they are so much better for the planet. They plump up and soften in water, they're easy to use, they dry out easily if you give them a squeeze after use and hang them up, and best of all they can be composted or dug into the soil without leaving anything nasty behind them.

Fantastic eco friendly product that works superbly
Really like these biodegradeable scourers. They come as a very small flat item but expand with water. They work really well, getting through grease and stuck on food and they are flexible and non-scratch (suitable for non-stick frying pans etc.)I'm impressed! They are not dirt cheap, by that I mean you can get polluting plastic ones cheaper, but they last longer and they are well worth it. They work brilliantly and we all need to think of the environment more. Fantastic product I will definitely buy again.

Poor sponge, but good loofah
Like the eco friendly nature, but the fact is these are subpar sponges. Doesn’t really get things stuck off pans, takes lots of elbow grease, the structure remains stiff even when very wet and used to the point of wearing out. Almost cut myself trying to clean a knife as the result—the stitched frame stayed stiff while the knife cut through the middle to my hand. Make excellent body loofahs which is what we’re now using them for. Still on the search for a good eco sponge. Might try a cellulose sponge and a little brush.

I've been using these for about 5 years now, and would not buy anything else. Excellent product.

Not the best
These are a nice ecological sponge and a great idea. they work well at expanding when first connected with water, but they’re not very good at cleaning and they smell after a while. There are better ecological sponges available on the market.

Brilliant plastic-free alternative to kitchen sponges
I’ve been using these for a few weeks now and have just started on my second one. These do a great job of cleaning with minimal elbow-grease, and last well. The main advantages of these are: Storage - 6 of these take up the same amount of space as 1-2 conventional plastic sponges Eco- friendly - when it’s at the end of its useful life just chuck it in the food waste for composting Hygiene - the hanging loop means no more damp sponge breeding nasty bacteria to the sink, simply loop it over the tap to dry between uses They handle most items with ease, although the first one did not like the very sharp knife I washed with it - totally my fault, a blade that sharp would slice a conventional sponge too, but it did shorten the life of the eplanita one significantly. I won’t be going back to plastic sponges, next mission is to find the perfect eco scourer for the more stubborn items like oven racks!

After trying the sample they generously include in their (also fabulous) bamboo/natural bristle veggie scrubber (which I also use for dishes) I fell in love with this sponge. The loofah is softened, not hard like the whole loofahs one usually sees, making it easy to use. It’s scrubby enough to get most caked-on gook but safe for nonstick, plastic, and ceramic surfaces. It’s very absorbent, even better than most plastic/based sponges as mine didn’t leave any droplets behind, so you can use it for spills and wiping up counters, too. Haven’t had it long enough to comment on durability or smells. Even so, I think it’s a great value for an effective all around sponge that won’t add to the plastic crisis.
