Is this for use in the shower?

You can wear it in the shower, if you wish. But, it is going to get soaking wet. The only times that I have worn it in the shower was to protect my feeding tube after having the tube replaced and it is healing. Other than that I do not wear it in the shower. Like anything you wear, you should change it every day for sanitary reasons. That is why I own a few of them so I can throw the dirty ones in with the wash.

Can this be used for a cat with a gtube?

It was 2 big for what we needed. It was very awkward for baby it probably would be awkward for a cat.
