RACE, RECOVER, FASTER. Alchemist RX Compression Socks aren’t dope, but they may as well be. Developed by Endurance Racer and ER Doctor, Jeff Wu, M.D., RX Compression Socks are specially formulated to provide 40mmHg pressure in the hind foot and ankle, gradually decreasing to 30mmHg as the sock travels up the lower leg to the calf. (20-30 mmHg for PINK socks) This graduated compression is scientifically proven to enhance blood flow and circulation which helps oxygenate muscle tissue and delays anaerobic metabolism. That means you can go faster for longer. RX compression socks also decrease blood lactic acid levels and dampen muscle vibration which reduces muscle soreness and fatigue. This medical grade compression provides essential muscle and joint support during AND after sports and fitness for runners, cyclists, marathoners, triathletes as well as daily use for flight travelers, pregnancy, and prolonged standing or sitting during the work day. RX compression socks are also highly effective for recovery during injury with healing support and increased blood circulation and oxygen flow to muscles.

Not so good for medical compression, but wonderful customer service
Well, here's the deal. I received a discount on these in exchange for an honest review, and I am required to write said review, so here it is.I got the hot pink ones - and let me tell you, the photo on the website....not even close. They are NEON pink. That's not a horrible thing - just be advised if you choose the pink, what you will be getting. I was kind of blown away by how bright these were. But once I adjusted, I was fine. The compression is very light, so they didn't work for my needs. I have dysautonomia/POTS and need medical grade compression, which is very firm. These were much lighter than what I am used to compression-wise, but also quite tight around the edges - so they cut into my leg and hurt to wear. I honestly couldn't even wear them an hour because of it - and I usually wear my knee-high compression socks all day. They were also much easier to put on than the ones I am used to - firmer compression makes putting on my regular ones a two person job, and it takes like 10 minutes. It's kind of brutal. These I was able to put on myself with no issues, and it took a niomal amount of time putting on socks takes - so I guess that's a plus?I DID contact the company to let them know, and I did return them to Amazon with zero issues for a full refund. I will say that the customer service was really great - they really wanted to do whatever it took to make it right. I DO think these are probably good compression socks for athletics or sitting on a plane. But they just didn't work for medical use. So maybe still give them a go if you're using them for those things, because they may well work for you. And if they don't, the company is really great about both communication (my emails were answered immediately, I was really impressed) and trying to help you troubleshoot or if that won't do, offering a refund. To me that bit alone was worth some stars.

Excellent 30-40 compression socks. Nothing else on the market like them.
These are excellent 30-40 mmHg compression socks. There really is nothing else on the market with a 30-40 compression that's sporty and this comfortable. I use them for working out but I also use them throughout the day to address minor edema in one leg due to an old leg injury. They may seem expensive compared to other sport compression socks, but they are a well made product that performs very well. Thus, compared to other medical grade compression socks, they are fairly priced. They run very small - I wear a 9 1/2 male shoe and and I wear an X-Large in these socks. I wear a medium in compression socks from Jobst. Thus, I would recommend going 2 sizes up from your normal size.

Great high compression socks - ideal for calf muscle injury recovery
I was looking for a high compression knee-high sock to aid in recovery from a calf muscle tear. This sock is exactly what I had hoped for. These socks provided critical aid during recovery. I continue to use them, since they provide excellent protection during a workout and superior recovery afterward. I very much like the different support weave (gray rather than black) that runs across the top of the foot and up the back of the ankle. Please be aware that any sock that provides 30-40 mmHg compression is going to be somewhat thick and challenging to put on and take off. That's the nature of a high compression sock. If you want a more sheer sock that is easier to don and doff you should opt for something with lighter compression.

comfortable as soon as you get them on!
I ordered these in Medium (Im a size 9.5) which fit my foot fine but the calf area didn't fit me. I contacted the seller and asked if they can send me a pair in size Large and they did! The large pair fits much better around my calves. I feel the blood circulating to my feet. These socks feel like they're good quality. Getting them on is a challenge, even with the Large socks. As soon as they are on they feel good. I originally wanted these for snowboarding and have yet to go snowboarding in them. Will update as soon as I use it for that. I got these at a discounted price.Edit. 1/19/2016These socks are awesome! I used these socks after a day of snowboarding. Kept the blood flowing and may have helped my legs feel less sore. Great customer service! I even got a "swag" package out of no where. Thanks Brian Dekle!

Excellent socks for athletic purposes
These socks are great. The material is nice and sturdy. My biggest concern going in was that I wouldn't be able to wear them for long periods of time without cutting off circulation or feeling restricted in my movement. Well, I took them out for a good four hour long bike ride and at no point did I feel like I needed to take them off. My legs also felt great afterwards. They really minimized the fatigue and soreness I usually feel post-ride.For what it's worth, I wear size 10 shoes and I went with a medium. They fit nice and snug, which is a comfort in itself. With the socks are on, I can only describe it as feeling like my foot is in a bubble. There's freedom and a feeling of protection (although that might just be in my mind). The top of the socks ended above my calves. It was extremely tough getting the socks on at first but that was to be expected since I had never used compression socks before. I found that it was easier to just roll them inside out, slip on the foot portion, and roll the rest upwards.Granted, I did receive these socks at a discounted price so please take that into consideration. I would still recommend these socks to anyone. They get the job done.

Love these socks!
These are a great item. They do seem to run a bit small. I ordered a size medium based on other reviews I read and I am glad I did. I am a woman and I wasn't certain if the reviews were mostly men or women. I wear a women's size 8 and I have calf muscles that measure 14 inches around and these were a perfect fit for me in diameter and height. Aside from running small these socks have been wonderful, for hiking, biking, and long days walking on the concrete floors at work. I will be buying another pair!
