Only thing I'll use, now!
The only thing I'd remembered about paper litter was the negative, the fact that you can't just sift out the wet bits with a straining scoop. (tips on that to follow) But, my cat Tesla got a serious infection from clay litter compacted in a claw, and we had to switch to paper litter till it healed.I have two of their 4 litter boxes in one tiny room. The shelves and everything in there are always covered in white dust from clay litter. I clean it away and it's everywhere again in no time. The grit from clay always gets spread everywhere and scratches the floors. Not having that dust anymore is reason enough to switch to fresh news. My Asthmatic cat certainly agreesPros:With the paper litter, there's no cloud of dust in my face when I clean the boxes, and no floor grit.I don't have to worry about any more toe infections from impacted clay in claws. One 25 lb bag of paper litter is lasting me twice as long as a 30 lb bucket of clay litter.Cheaper, because it lasts longer. It's a great way to make use of recycled paper.I'm can compost it.Available in UNSCENTED! fragrances are bad for cats and perfume+poo doesn't smell any better than just poo. If you're allergic to most added fragrances (like I am) this is extra important.Since I'm allergic to soy inks the compost will only be for flowers, not veg, but that's still better than piles of clay in a land fill.Tips:The more often you scoop, the easier it is to find the used bits. Litter boxes should always be scooped daily, regardless of litter type, but doing it frequently also makes it easier to spot peed-on litter before it dries. If your cat pees only small amounts at a time, the paper can dry out before you go to scoop. If this happens, look for swollen bits. Thicker bits mean they expanded from having gotten wet.Tesla covers his tiny pee spots, so I gently scoop back top bits until I see lower bits that look a bit swollen or are coming apart. I scoop out swollen ones and some around it.My other cat, Schroedinger, has serious excess urination and doesn't cover anything. This litter can handle her buckets of pee, as the paper just swells up and soaks it up like sponges.I heavily recommend using biodegradable puppy pee pads as liners in the boxes. If a dribble gets through the gaps between paper bits, they absorbs it. Every so often I let the boxes get low. After scooping, I pour unused litter into a bag and put the liner in my paper compost, add a new liner, and dump the litter back in.Plastic absorbs odors. I used to have to empty, scrub, and soak our boxes ever so often to appease my picky cat. Paper doesn't stick to the plastic like clay, so it would be easier now even if I didn't use the liners. But with the liners, I don't usually bother. Sometimes I mist the bottom of the box with alcohol and let it dry before putting in a new liner.

Great product
This product is great and beats the traditional kitty litter. It’s easy to clean and absorbs kitty urine leaving very little odor. I continue to purchase this product and highly recommended it!

Best Litter in the World
Newspaper pellets are the best best cat litters, stop messing around with the dust, sand or crystal kinds. (Even pine pellets take the smell of urine so badly-) newspaper pellets are the best cat litter thank God Amazon has this available. No mess, no tracking, no smell. I use these newspaper pellets litter with stainless steel litter boxes. This is the move.

served it's purpose
I needed clay & dust free litter for my Kitty after surgery on an infected abscess. Paper litter was recommended by the vet. This was cheaper than what they sell at the local pet store & at Shoprite, so i only bought a small bag there to get me by until this could be delivered. It arrived in two days through amazon prime, and all i had to do was carry it from the porch to the litter area. very convenient!Ok, so this stuff is not my favorite litter, but it was definitely worth using for a few weeks to help make sure my kitty's wound stayed clean. The doc had warned me they might need to clean it out several times as the infection was so nasty & there was a lot of necrotic tissue. but after the first debridement the wound was already healing nicely & he was on the road to recovery. :).....I definitely noticed the lack of kitty litter dust in the air. Even when i buy the expensive "99.9% dust free" litters, i can still always detect some small whiff of dust in the air. Not with this paper litter. It really truly is dust free. Better for kitty's wound, and better for my sinuses.NOW-about the somewhat negatives to using this type of litter....You need to scoop VERY frequently because there is no odor control. my cat did not like to paw at this stuff so he would leave his poop uncovered on top & the whole room would stink until i removed it. At least that made it easy to remove the feces because all i had to do was pluck it off the top. The urine is another story though. It will go straight down and soak the pieces at the bottom of the tray and the top stays dry. Unfortunately you can't sift for clumps like in "regular" litter. The wet litter will clump up in a big damp paper blob making sifting impossible. To make the bag last longer i would try to salvage as much of the clean, dry litter i could by gently moving it to the side before scooping. Then i would be sure to remove as much of the heavily soiled pieces at the bottom as possible. This will help to avoid an ammonia smell building up.

Good for what ails your cat's toes
Bought this on recommendation from vet to get pelleted litter for my 18 yo cat who had a foot wound from an ingrown claw. The pelleted stuff won't get into the healing wound like the regular clumping clay litter will.My cat thought it was a little weird at first but now he loves it. BONUS - no litter tracking!I tried another brand that couldn't hold up to his output and the odor control was not good. This brand has great odor control. Trick is to put about a third of a 25 pound bag into the box and the odor control will work great. After cleaning out the presents your cat leaves you in the litter stir it around a bit to keep the odor control working at maximum. Oh, and the stuff is absorbant too.I think this is a healthier choice for my cat and keeping the floor around the litter box is a whole lot easier that using clumping clay litter.Recommended by a multi-cat household dad.
